Mamelodi Sundowns are keen to maintain their lead in the Premier Soccer League title race when they clash against Royal AM at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday.

  • Kennedy Mweene, Mamelodi Sundowns, May 2021

    GOALKEEPER - Kennedy Mweene

The former Free State Stars captain keeps his place in the Downs starting line-up with Denis Onyango still suspended.

Mweene conceded his first goal of the season in the league against Stellenbosch FC last weekend.

  • Thapelo Morena of Mamelodi Sundowns challenged by Sipho Mbule of Supersport United.

    RIGHT-BACK - Thapelo Morena

The Bafana Bafana international made a good impact after replacing an injured Khuliso Mudau at half-time against Stellenbosch.

Morena, who was involved in the build-up to Downs' equalising goal, has been rewarded with a starting berth.

  • Lyle Lakay, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2020

    LEFT-BACK - Lyle Lakay

The free-kick specialist rescued a point for Sundowns last weekend as he grabbed a second-half goal in the 1-1 draw.

It was Lakay's first league goal of the current campaign having scored four times in the competition last term.

  • Mosa Lebusa of Mamelodi Sundowns.

    CENTRAL DEFENDER - Mosa Lebusa

The Welkom-born defender will be up against his Bafana teammate Victor Letsoalo, who is one of the most feared strikers in the PSL.

Lebusa cannot afford to make any mistakes when marking the Royal AM hitman.

  • Grant Kekana, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

    CENTRAL DEFENDER - Grant Kekana

The consistent defender was one of Downs' better players in their clash with Stellies.

Kekana will be hoping to continue his good form for Masandawana against the PSL debutants.

  • Rushine De Reuck, Mamelodi Sundowns, March 2021

CENTRAL DEFENDER - Rushine De Reuck

Sundowns coaches have decided to start with three centre-backs against a Royal AM side which has scored the second-highest number of goals in this campaign.

That has seen De Reuck being included after being benched in recent games.

  • Andile Jali, Mamelodi Sundowns, September 2021

The experienced midfielder maestro is a sure starter and with Sundowns having three centre-backs, they look strong defensively.

  • Neo Maema, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

The former Bloemfontein Celtic star was a doubt for this match but has been selected.

He is expected to cover for Zwane who is on the bench.

  • Thabiso Kutumela, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    LEFT FORWARD - Thabiso Kutumela

The 2015/16 National First Division Golden Boot winner was arguably Downs' best attacker against Stellies and he grabbed an assist.

Kutumela, who is now a regular for the Tshwane giants, will be looking to score his second league goal for Masandawana.

  • Sibusiso Vilakazi of Mamelodi Sundowns

    RIGHT FORWARD - Sibusiso Vilakazi

Vilakazi is a surprise starter and has been selected ahead of Gaston Sirino.

  • Peter Shalulile, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    CENTRE FORWARD - Peter Shalulile

The current PSL top scorer has failed to score in his last two league matches.

This will make Shalulile even more dangerous when he faces a Royal AM defence which has kept a clean sheet in their last two league games.
