Real Madrid could not secure a routine LaLiga win as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cadiz at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.
There were a couple of opportunities for the league leaders to score, most notably Federico Valverde's long-range effort, which forced the Cadiz goalkeeper into a big save.
It was a tough night for the young Brazilian, although he was a threat in attack, he, unfortunately, struggled to get into the game and his decision making in the final third wasn’t at the level we expected.
He will learn from this performance and it will help him develop his game as we approach the second half of the season.
Valverde had a good performance in midfield, recovering the ball well, covering the right-back position when Real Madrid counterattacked and making key passes.
He arguably had one of the biggest chances with an incredible strike from outside the box that saw the Cadiz goalkeeper make the save of the match.
Things were tough for Vazquez in the first half, with most of Real Madrid’s attacks going down the right side but he struggled to beat his man and get his crosses in.
The half-time team talk probably worked, because he came out as a different player in the second half. He created several opportunities down the right, managed to make key passes and made the most tackles in the team.
It was a great performance by Kroos, who showed he is in a class of his own as he had the most touches out of all the players on the field and came away with a 96% passing accuracy rate.
He was at the heart of every single Real Madrid attack, making nine key passes and also getting a couple of shots on target.
Casemiro has always been known for his defensive work and is the protector of the Real Madrid backline. Most of the possession was with Los Blancos, and we got to see the attacking side of the Brazilian.
He managed to put the ball over the top a couple of times, and that broke the Cadiz defence.
He remained a constant threat with his aerial abilities at set-pieces, while making tackles and interceptions that broke up play.
