Kaizer Chiefs secured a 1-0 win over Richards Bay despite being numerically disadvantaged at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Yusuf Maart was sent off in the first half as Amakhosi were reduced to 10 players, but Dillon Solomons' second half goal earned the Soweto giants a win.

There are players who stepped up their game as Chiefs showed character against the PSL newcomers.

GOAL runs the rule over the individual performances of the Amakhosi players.

  • Brandon Petersen, Kaizer Chiefs, February 2022

    Brandon Petersen - 6/10

Started slowly with Chiefs controlling the game.

Petersen made a mistake when he gave away possession, but Katleho Makateng failed to hit the target from close range. He was busy after the restart - dealing well with aerial balls with Chiefs under pressure.

The Cape Town-born keeper produced a sensational save to deny Sanele Barnes a goal towards the end of the game.

    Njabulo Ngcobo - 8.5/10

Chiefs were awarded a penalty after he was fouled in the box and Solomons converted it.

  • Khama Billiat Kaizer Chiefs

    Khama Billiat - 6/10

    Started well as the centre-forward.
