Real Madrid face Valencia in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup on Wednesday evening in Saudi Arabia as Carlo Ancelotti's men aim to claim the first piece of silverware of the year.

The revamped format of the competition sees Real Betis and Barcelona face off in the other semi-final on Thursday, with the final being played on Sunday and Madrid are the reigning champions having beaten Athletic Club in the final last year.

Real Madrid vs Valencia latest odds

Valencia secured their spot in the competition after finishing as runners-up to Real Betis in last season's Copa Del Rey and Gennaro Gattuso's side are outsiders with bet365 at 23/4 (5.75).

Los Blancos meanwhile are well-fancied to get the job done inside 90 minutes at 53/100 (1.53) with the game offered at 10/3 (4.33) to finish as a draw.

Real Madrid vs Valencia first goal scorer odds

Last year's semi-final saw Real Madrid beat Barcelona with Vinicius Junior opening the scoring.

The Brazilian is priced at 4/1 (5.00) to break the deadlock once more behind Karim Benzema who leads the market at 11/4 (3.75).

Elsewhere, Fede Valverde is offered at 11/1 (12.00) while the shortest priced Valencia player to score is Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani at 10/1 (11.00).

Real Madrid vs Valencia preview

Both sides come into the game having suffered defeats at the weekend in La Liga, with Real Madrid losing at Villarreal and Valencia going down at home to Cadiz.

The loss against the relegation strugglers was Valencia's fourth in their last six games and after a promising start, Los Che have faded under Gattuso.

The Italian manager will know that winning this competition would be enough to render Valencia's season a success, but they seem ill equipped defensively to handled Real Madrid's firepower.

The Mestalla outfit have kept just two clean sheets in 16 La Liga matches this term and both of those shut outs have come in their own stadium.

Backing the top scoring side in La Liga to cause Valencia more problems therefore should appeal.

Real Madrid vs Valencia tips and predictions.

Real Madrid to win and over 2.5 goals in the game looks like an obvious selection at 5/4 (2.25), while Los Blancos can be backed at the same price to score in both halves.
