Commentary

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next one. Until then, goodbye!
That win sees Atleti cement their position in third in the La Liga table, and that's despite Sevilla's 1-0 win over Bilbao. A poor title defence, but Champions League qualification is assured for Simeone's men. Meanwhile, Sociedad finish three places lower in sixth, but couldn't cap off a fantastic season of progression with a win in their final game.
On the balance of play, Sociedad could've easily won that game, having 62.3 per cent of the ball and mustering 12 shots on goal. That's double Atleti's six, but the Rojiblancos were far more clinical, having five on target and scoring twice. Sociedad meanwhile had just three of their 12 hit the target, suggesting that next season, the Basque side's finishing will really need to improve.
Atleti's season ends with a closely-fought victory that sees them secure third place in the table! A much improved second-half performance, particularly early on, saw De Paul and Correa's goals prove to be the difference. Sociedad faded as the half went on, but still had a plethora of chances, and could well have won this game if they'd been a bit more clinical.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: REAL SOCIEDAD 1-2 ATLETICO MADRID.
90' + 5' A second successive Sociedad corner bounces over Oblak's crossbar, but the hosts' players claim it hit the hand of Reinildo last! Nothing given though, and VAR agree with the referee's original decision.
90' + 4' Guridi taps the ball beyond Felipe and is caught late by the Atleti centre-back, winning Sociedad a second attacking free-kick in as many minutes.
Jon Guridi
Goal
90' + 3' GOOOAAALLL!!! The hosts have one back!! Januzaj's well-hit free-kick is parried by Oblak, but it bounces in the six-yard box where Guridi is waiting to nod the ball into the opposite corner! 2-1, and it's never too late for another goal or two!
S. Savić
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Savic looks to be causing trouble in the giant wall made up of both teams, and is booked by the referee for wasting time.
90' + 1' Djouahra's shot catches the arm of Felipe on its way towards goal, and the referee blows for a Sociedad free-kick in a very dangerous position.
90' + 1' We're into four minutes of added time to close out this game.
90' Januzaj's clever throughball is deflected into Zaldua's path, but the right-back's low cross into the box is blocked behind by Felipe!
88' Zaldua surges forward before finding Januzaj on the right. He links up with Guridi, but his left-footed lobbed pass into the box is a wayward one and goes out for a goal kick.
L. Suárez
A. Griezmann
86' Griezmann's scoring drought will go on, as he is taken off for a prolific goalscorer in every sense of the word, Luis Suarez.
T. Lemar
R. De Paul
86' Having opened the scoring with a thunderbolt of a shot, De Paul now comes off for Thomas Lemar to see out the game.
85' Under Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid have won six of their 10 away games against Real Sociedad in La Liga, having previously won only six of their previous 28 away games against them in the competition.
83' Griezmann is bundled over the sideline by Zaldua, and grants Atleti an opportunity to cross this deep free-kick into the box.
Jon Guridi
Illarramendi
81' Sociedad captain Illarramendi is next to come off, and he'll be replaced by Jon Guridi.
80' WIDE!!! Januzaj plays a clever one-two with Illarramendi and looks to curl a shot into the top corner. He almost succeeds too, bending his shot just around the outside of Oblak's right post!
80' Portu picks up the ball in space and dribbles to the edge of the box. He looks to tee up Illarramendi, but it's hoofed away by Felipe.
78' Januzaj advances down the right, beating both Koke and Carrasco on his way, but touch inside is picked up by Reinildo, who Januzaj catches late and concedes the free-kick.
Portu
Yellow Card
76' Portu is barged over by the shoulder of Felipe, preventing him from reaching a throughball, and his protests at the referee result in a yellow card being brandished for dissent.
75' Portu finds Merino in midfield, but he's immediately barrelled over by Kondogbia and wins a free-kick.
73' Play halts for another cooling break, even with heavy rain lashing it's way down inside the stadium!
N. Djouahra
A. Sørloth
71' Sorloth also comes off for the home side, with Nais Djouahra taking his place up front.
Zaldúa
Gorosabel
71' Gorosabel is the next to come off for Sociedad, replaced at right-back by Joseba Zaldua.
71' There's a foot-race between Llorente and Rico down the right as the Atleti wing-back chases a loose ball, and Llorente is able to reach it, but his cross goalwards deflects off Rico and Elustondo deals with it.
Á. Correa
Goal
69' GOOOOAAALLLL!!!! The Rojiblancos double their lead!!! Carrasco has an age to pick his spot in the box and does so, curling a ball in for Koke. He takes a touch, then lays it off for Correa, who smashes the ball home to make it 2-0!
Koke
Assist
69' If the ball from Carrasco was good, the lay-off from Koke was even better, giving Correa the chance to lash the ball home and put Atletico in the driving seat.
67' Carrasco looks to dribble through midfield, but is clipped late by Zubimendi and receives a free-kick.
65' Both of De Paul's shots have been on target, culminating in his fantastic goal, but the Argentina midfielder has also had more touches and passes than any of his teammates, completing two crosses and winning all of his duels. Talisman.
Portu
Rafinha
63' Rafinha is also replaced for Sociedad, and Portu will replace him in midfield.
A. Januzaj
A. Isak
63' Isak comes off despite being arguably Sociedad's most promising attacker, and he'll be replaced by Adnan Januzaj.
Á. Correa
Matheus Cunha
63' Cunha comes off in Atleti's first change, and is replaced by Angel Correa.
61' CHANCE!!! Rafinha flicks the ball over Kondogbia and looks to feed Sorloth, but he can't set his feet for a shot in time and possession is lost inside the Atleti box!
59' Sociedad attempt a counter-attack as Isak races down the right. He latches onto Le Normand's long ball, but Felipe shadows him all the way and wins possession back for the Rojiblancos.
58' Griezmann has scored six goals against his former club Sociedad in La Liga, with three of them coming at the Reale Arena. The Frenchman has now gone 14 games in a row without scoring in the competition and, should he fail to score, will suffer his longest goal drought in the top-flight.
56' SAVED!!!! Atleti break at pace as Carrasco runs forward. He tees up Griezmann to shoot, but the striker hits his right-footed effort straight at Remiro, and it's parried away by the Sociedad keeper!
55' Isak and Sorloth do well to hold up possession, before Isak volleys the ball diagonally for Rico. He looks to surge into the box, but a sliding Savic clears it away.
Mikel Merino
Yellow Card
53' Llorente is sandwiched in-between challenges from Merino and Zubimendi, with Merino booked for badly mistiming a hack at the ball.
52' Atleti look to build another attack through Griezmann, but he's muscled off the ball by fellow Frenchman Le Normand, and Sociedad survive another onslaught.
A. Griezmann
Assist
50' The lay-off from Griezmann was superbly timed, too, allowing De Paul to take a touch to set himself, and the second to rifle the ball into the back of the net!
R. De Paul
Goal
50' GOOOAAAALLLL!!!! What a hit!!!! Atleti keep possession well and Griezmann feeds De Paul on the edge of the box. With few passing options, he tries his luck and smashes an absolute beauty of a shot across Remiro and into the top corner! That's some strike, and it puts Atletico 1-0 up early in the second half!
49' Atletico have started this second half with purpose, having two efforts on goal already, which when compared to none in the entire first half, is some improvement!
47' SAVED!! De Paul tries his luck from the edge of the box too, firing a dipping effort that is parried away from danger by Remiro!
46' OFF THE BAR!!! Cunha chests down along ball forward and races towards the box, smashing a half-volley over Remiro and off the bar! What a hit!
46' Isak resumes proceedings for Sociedad, and the second half is underway.
The teams are back out for the second half, and can Atleti show more of their quality in the next 45 minutes?
Rafinha had three attempts at goal in the first half, however none were one target. He's been busy all over the pitch though, contesting twelve duels and three tackles respectively, whilst winning and conceding two fouls apiece.
The first half ends, and it's not exactly been the prettiest of spectacles! Sociedad, the side with nothing to play for, have had all the chances, and are somewhat unlucky not to have scored, but Atleti have offered next to nothing up front, and could well be overtaken by Sevilla into third if they beat Sociedad's Basque rivals Bilbao.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: REAL SOCIEDAD 0-0 ATLETICO MADRID.
A. Griezmann
Yellow Card
45' + 2' Griezmann rises for a high ball and catches Le Normand with an elbow. He's put into the book as a result by the referee.
45' + 1' WIDE!!! Rafinha turns Kondogbia in midfield and drives towards the box. He gets to the edge of the area, before firing a low, left-footed shot that skews just wide of the target!
45' We'll play three minutes of added time to close out the first half.
43' WIDE!!! Isak picks the pocket of Felipe and puts Sorloth through into space. He tees up Rafinha, but with Oblak rushing up to him, can only side-foot his effort inches wide of the post!
41' Griezmann plays a beautiful ball forward from the right, looking for Cunha, but Le Normand races across the box to clear before the Brazilian can latch onto it.
39' Isak looks to play in Sorloth, but the Norwegian striker is caught by a sliding Reinildo as he touches the ball. He's stayed down too, and Sociedad's players are livid they've not been given a free-kick there!
38' Carrasco cleverly flicks a back-heeled pass wide to the overlapping Reinildo, but had come back from an offside position before making the pass, so the hosts get a free-kick.
Rafinha
Yellow Card
36' After Savic intercepts an Illarramendi pass forward, the Montenegrin defender comes out of defence with the ball. Rafinha slides in wildly and catches him late, deservedly being shown a yellow card by the referee.
34' Alteti have won four of their last six LaLiga away games, but only one of their last three - 2-0 against Elche in their last away outing. The Red-And-Whites have not won two games in a row on the road without conceding in the competition since June 2020.
32' Play stops for a cooling break mid-way through this first half, and hopefully this stoppage will spark more fast-paced, attacking football in a game that's only just started to really get going.
30' OFF THE POST!!! Sorloth does brilliantly to evade and outmuscles Reinildo as he powers down the right-hand side. He shoots low with his left, forcing a parry from Oblak, but Isak can only poke the rebound into the post from close range!!
28' BLOCKED!!! Isak turns Savic brilliantly and heads for goal down the left side of the box, but his effort is thwarted by a sliding Felipe! A first sight of goal for the Sweden striker there!
26' Sociedad build another attack as Merino turns away from a crowded box and looks to exploit the wide overlaps, but Gorosabel slips when trying to control the ball and it goes out of play.
24' Real Sociedad have kept 20 clean sheets in 37 LaLiga matches this season, equalling their best clean sheet record in a single top-flight campaign, achieved in 1979/80 in 34 matches.
22' Forward come Atleti as De Paul raves through midfield. He looks to play in Llorente down the right, but his cut-back for Cunha is sliced clear by Le Normand.
21' Scrappy play from both sides as Sociedad come forward on the counter. Sorloth tees up Gorosabel to shoot, but it's deflected before he can strike the ball, and Illarramendi loses possession.
19' Carrasco looks to get around the outside of Zubimendi and goes down in a heap inside the box. No penalty though, says the referee, as he points to the flag for an Atletico corner.
17' Isak is put into space and engages three defenders before spreading it wide to Gorosabel, but his cross is poor and Atleti head it away with ease.
15' WIDE!!! Illarramendi swings a long-distance free-kick into the box, where Merino rises at the back post to head it just wide of goal!
R. Le Normand
Yellow Card
13' Le Normand drags back Griezmann as the Altetico forward runs around the outside of him, and is given the first booking of the match.
12' Sorloth does well to keep hold of Illarramendi's ball forward for him, but his pull-back for Rico to cross goes astray and Atletico recover possession.
10' After a 2-0 win in the Copa del Rey in January 2022, Sociedad could achieve two wins in a row against Atletico Madrid in all competitions for the first time since October 2004.
8' Merino looks to play in Isak with a good throughball forward, but Felipe follows him all the way and wins possession back for Atleti.
6' Sociedad have failed to win any of their last four meetings with Atleti in La Liga, but could avoid defeat in their two meetings with the Rojiblancos in the same league campaign for the second time in the last three seasons.
4' Gorosabel dribbles down the right and ghosts past Carrasco before looking to cross, but Reinildo's block sends it out for a throw.
3' Real Sociedad have won their last two games in LaLiga and could win three games in a row in the competition for the second time this season (three between August and September 2021).
1' Cunha kicks off for Atleti, and we're off and running in San Sebastian!
The teams head onto the pitch, and both sides' last game of the season will soon be underway!
With top scorers Luis Suarez and Angel Correa benched, Atleti look to Matheus Cunha and Antoine Griezmann up front. Cunha, as well as Rodrigo De Paul, scored in Atleti’s last win, a 2-0 victory over Elche.
Still missing their top scorer Mikel Oyarzabal through a cruciate ligament injury, Sociedad start with a towering front two of Scandinavian pair Alexander Sorloth and Alexander Isak.

Atletico’s defence of their title has been a poor one, with their bitter rivals Real winning the league at a canter, 18 points above Los Colchoneros. Atleti will need to win this one too, to avoid being leapfrogged by Sevilla into fourth place.
Sociedad were the surprise early season pace-setters at the top of La Liga, but have drifted to sixth place approaching the final game of the season. They’ve already sealed qualification for next season’s Europa League, thanks to Betis winning the Copa del Rey and granting sixth place an extra qualification spot.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this fixture on the final day of La Liga's season, as Real Sociedad take on Atletico Madrid.
