Madrid certainly enjoyed the better of the first half against their fifth-placed opponents, but they will be striving to increase their lead soon after the interval in order to assuage any fear of a Villarreal comeback. The good news for Madrid is that Barcelona are losing 1-0 at the interval in a scoreline which would see Zidane's men claim the title anyhow, but the Madrid boss will want his side to see to things themselves at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.
Madrid head into the interval with a one-goal lead courtesy of Benzema's opener in the 29th minute. Casemiro won the ball in midfield before teeing up Modric to pick out Benzema inside the box, and the Frenchman fired home to put the hosts in the driving seat with his 20th goal of the season. 1' The referee blows his whistle and the game is underway!
The players are now emerging from the tunnel as kick-off edges closer.
Madrid are yet to lose a home league game in the 2019/20 season with the league leaders having won 14 and drawn 4 of their 18 home matches. However, Villarreal boast the fourth-best away record in LaLiga this campaign, while Madrid have won just one of their last five league games against today’s opponents.
Zidane has made two changes to the Real Madrid side with Hazard and Rodrigo replacing Valverde and Isco who both drop to the bench. Meanwhile, there have been a total of six changes made to the Villarreal side that suffered a 2-1 defeat against Real Sociedad on Monday. This sees Gaspar, Chakla, Quintilla, Morlanes, Chukwueze and Gerard Moreno all enter the starting line-up.
SUBS: Santi Cazorla, Sergio Lozano, Manu Trigueros, Vicente Iborra, Alex Baena, Bruno Soriano, Andrei Ratiu, Javier Ontiveros, Andres Fernandez, Alberto Moreno, Raul Albiol.

It will certainly not be an easy task for Madrid against a Villarreal side who have won six of their nine matches since the season’s resumption. Javi Calleja’s men can no longer finish in the top four, but they are still aiming to hold on to fifth spot as they look to secure Europa League football for next term.
Madrid are currently four points ahead of Barcelona at the LaLiga summit which means they can claim the title with three points today. It is also possible for Zinedine Zidane's men to seal the league title even if they lose, with anything other than a win for Barcelona against Osasuna also handing the trophy to Madrid. The Santiago Bernabeu outfit made it nine straight league victories following their 2-1 success over Granada on Monday and they now stand on the brink of their first league title since 2017 as they enter the final two matches.
