Milan are next in Serie A action when they head to Atalanta next weekend. Udinese face Salernitana in their next outing at home on Saturday.
Milan get their 2022/23 campaign off to a winning start, beating Udinese 4-2 at San Siro. The Friulians took an early lead after Deulofeu's inswinging corner was met by the head of Becao, but they were not ahead for long. A penalty from Hernandez and a cool finish from Rebic gave the hosts a deserved lead, but they were pegged back by a late first half header from debutant Masina. However, Udinese did not build on their goal and were dominated in the second half. Strikes from Diaz and Rebic gave last season's Serie A winners a deserved victory, with the away side failing to seriously trouble Maignan in the Milan net.

46' We're back underway for the second half!
Udinese have shown how they can score against Milan, so should repeat their tricks in the second half. Scoring from two crosses, balls in the box look like their best chance of grabbing a third. Additionally, playing on the counter, they must make the most of the few opportunities they get. As for Milan, they need to capitalise on lapses of concentration from Udinese. Scoring two goals in just a matter of minutes, the away team have shown to be weak at times. Calabria and Hernandez have also created width, so Milan should utilise them more.
The score is level as both teams head into the tunnel. It was Udinese who started the fastest, with Becão heading in Deulofeu's cross, before the hosts scored two quick goals. A penalty from Hernandez and a sweeping finish from Rebic put Milan ahead before the away team scored just before the break. Latching onto a cross from Pereyra, Masina scored a debut header to equalise.

41' Diaz makes a great run down the left after playing the ball to Messias, but the Brazilian fails to find him and losses possession.

Milan secured their first Serie A title in 11 years after defeating Sassuolo 3-0 on the final day of last season. Preparing for the upcoming campaign, the Rossoneri won four of their five pre-season games, with their last being a 6-1 victory over Vicenza last weekend.
