Liverpool are next in action against Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday at Anfield. Manchester United take on Arsenal in their next outing at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Liverpool move top of the Premier League courtesy of a 4-0 triumph over Manchester United this evening at Anfield. The Reds were on song from the off as first-half goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah put them in command. United had a spell of pressure in the second half, but the home side quickly put the game to bed as Sadio Mane converted Diaz's cross before Salah notched his second with five minutes to play.
90' + 4' WIDE! Alexander-Arnold delivers a dangerous cross into the box from the right flank that travels through a crowd of players and deflects off the leg of Dalot before heading just wide of the left post.
90' + 3' Salah almost breaks through for a second hat-trick against United this season, but Wan-Bissaka slides in to divert the ball away from the forward at the last second.
90' There will be three minutes of added time.

N. Keïta
Yellow Card
85' Keita slides in hard on Lingard and catches the midfielder with a late boot. He goes into the book for the home side, and it could well have been worse for the Liverpool man.
Diogo Jota
85' Jota works a precise offload into the feet of Salah from the left flank before the forward applies the finish.
Mohamed Salah
85' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! SALAH MAKES IT FOUR!!!!!!!!! 4-0 LIVERPOOL!!!!!! Salah notches his second of the night with a great run and cool finish. Jota threads the needle to release the run of the forward, who gets on the inside of Wan-Bissaka in the United box. The defender tries to slide to block his strike, but he ends up deflecting it over De Gea into the net.
H. Mejbri
A. Elanga
84' Mejbri enters the fold for the visitors as he replaces Elanga in the final third.
83' For once Mane's distribution is poor tonight as he sends Keita away from goal with a loose offload in the United box. The Reds are forced back rather than having a shooting opportunity.
81' Rashford is played into space by Matic on the edge of the Liverpool box, but he drags his right-footed strike comfortably wide of the left post.
N. Keïta
Thiago Alcântara
80' Thiago has pulled the strings for Liverpool tonight and is now withdrawn for Keita.
79' Mane releases Robertson down the left flank with a fine pass, but his cutback is cleared behind by Dalot on the slide.
78' there have been two occasions of a team having three players both score and assist a goal in a Premier League game this season - Liverpool vs Manchester United tonight and Liverpool vs Manchester United in October
76' Sancho finds space down the left flank and he has support in the middle, but he sends his cross straight down the throat of Alisson.
73' Salah breaks into the box down the right flank, but the visitors get enough men back to quell his threat before he can fire at goal.

Diogo Jota
L. Díaz

68' Diaz collects an offload from Robertson before guiding a precise cross into the box for Mane to sweep into the net.
S. Mané
68' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! PURE PRECISION FROM MANE!!!!!! 3-0 LIVERPOOL!!!!!! Just as Liverpool were losing control, Mane re-affirms their dominance with a delightful finish on his left foot. Robertson leads a break out and feeds Diaz in space on the left flank. He supplies a cross into the box for Mane to shoot first time, and he steers his effort away from De Gea into the bottom-right corner.
66' Van Dijk is put under pressure at the back and boots the ball at the advertising hoardings in frustration after winning a throw-in. Liverpool have lost their control of the contest.
64' OFFSIDE! Sancho weaves his way past Matip and threads a pass towards Rashford, who takes the ball in stride and fires at goal on his left foot. Alisson is sharp off his line to deny the forward and get to his feet to block Elanga's effort on the rebound. The flag goes up late for offside, but replays show that Rashford was onside. Therefore, his strike would have counted after a VAR check had he found the net.
62' BLOCK! United have space on the counter and Sancho works the ball to Elanga to strike on his left foot, but his effort is charged down by Thiago.
60' Liverpool have lost their intensity in the final third in the second half. They're not quite finding the penetration that they enjoyed before the break.
59' Elanga is brought down by Thiago in the Liverpool half, but the visitors waste another useful position as Fernandes clips his free-kick straight into the path of Alisson.
58' Sancho collects on the left flank from Elanga's pass. He breaks into the box, but is halted by a fine challenge from Alexander-Arnold.
57' Klopp has looked a tad agitated with his side's start to the second half. He knows that a goal for United would raise the tension in Anfield.
55' SAVE! United have a rare foray into the Liverpool half and Sancho takes possession in the inside-left channel. He places a strike through the legs of Matip, but Alisson makes a comfortable stop.
52' Salah is played into space down the right flank, but he just overruns the ball as he approaches the edge of the box and is forced back to Fabinho.
50' Alisson comes a long way off his line to gather the ball, but once again does enough to break away from pressure from Lingard.
47' Robertson brings down Elanga on the charge down the right flank, but the resulting free-kick from Fernandes is headed clear by Matip.
46' We're back under way at Anfield.
J. Sancho
P. Jones
46' Jones is withdrawn from the action and is replaced by Sancho. United are moving to four at the back in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
United have been well and truly outplayed tonight and are lucky to be only two goals down at the break. Whereas Liverpool have been sensational in their passing and movement, the visitors have been sluggish and off the pace. Ralf Rangnick is going to need a teamtalk and a half to inspire his team to get back into the game.
Liverpool are on their way to the top of the Premier League after dominating the first half of their clash against Manchester United, taking a 2-0 lead into the break. Luis Diaz fired the home side ahead with a close-range finish before Mohamed Salah ended his goal drought with a crisp finish following a fine pass from Sadio Mane. 38' Rashford latches on to a ball over the top from Wan-Bissaka, but he takes a poor first touch and allows Alisson to gather the loose ball.
35' DISALLOWED GOAL! Diaz sees a goal chalked off for offside as he moves a fraction too soon from Fabinho's attempted strike at goal.
34' Matic makes a vital intervention at the back to deny Mane a path through to goal after Alisson, Diaz and Salah combine to almost release the forward with a sublime team move.
32' OFFSIDE! Mane latches on to a header from Van Dijk and swings a leg at the ball. De Gea produces a good reaction stop before gathering at the second attempt, but it was moot anyway as the Senegalese was offside.
31' Diaz has a surge down the left flank Jones, who has to divert the ball behind for a corner. Liverpool look dangerous with every attack.
30' Salah is only the second player to score as many as four goals in a Premier League season against Man Utd, after Robbie Fowler in 1995-96.
28' The gulf in quality between the teams is monumental this evening. United cannot get close to Liverpool here.

Mohamed Salah
22' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! SALAH ENDS HIS GOAL DROUGHT!!!!!!! 2-0 LIVERPOOL!!!!!!! Salah gets on the scoresheet with a crisp finish following a sublime reverse from Mane. He takes a great first touch before slotting a left-footed strike to the right of De Gea into the back of the net.
19' Liverpool win another corner down the left flank that is cleared as far as Henderson 25 yards from goal. The Reds skipper lines up a strike on the volley, but he skies his attempt over the bar.
18' Diaz tries to take the ball out of the air on the edge of the United box, but he just cannot find room to fire at goal amid pressure from Lindelof. Liverpool sustain the pressure and win a corner down the right flank.
16' Robertson floats the resulting corner to the back post for Fabinho in acres of space, but he scuffs his volley towards goal and United clear the danger.
15' WIDE! Mane turns in the final third and looks for space to fire at goal, but his effort is deflected behind by Maguire.
12' Diaz rises to attack a dangerous cross from Thiago into the box, but he glances his header narrowly over the bar.
J. Lingard
P. Pogba
10' Pogba limps off for the visitors with an apparent leg injury. Lingard replaces the Frenchman.
8' Liverpool have avoided defeat in their last 31 matches when scoring the opening goal in the Premier League dating back to 28th February 2021 against Sheffield United.
7' The entire stadium stages a minute of applause for Ronaldo following the tragic death of his baby son.
Mohamed Salah
5' Salah latches on to Mane's throughball down the right flank before he slides a low ball across the face of goal for Diaz to score.
L. Díaz
5' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! DIAZ FIRES LIVERPOOL AHEAD!!!!!!!! 1-0!!!!!!!!! The Reds cut open United with ease before Diaz converts from close range. Liverpool work the ball out from the back before Mane sends Salah in acres of space down the right flank. He sends a low cross into the middle that Diaz sweeps past De Gea with ease. All too easy for the home side.
3' Alisson takes a risk at the back amid pressure from Fernandes, but the Brazilian turns his way past the United midfielder in his own box.
1' We're under way at Anfield.
Liverpool are looking to complete the league double over Manchester United for the first time since 2013-14, while they last won three in a row against the Red Devils between September 2008 and October 2009.
United are without Ronaldo after the tragic death of his son. Rangnick makes four changes to his team from the line-up that started against Norwich. Wan-Bissaka, Matic, Jones and Rashford all start. Sancho, Lingard and Telles drop to the bench.
Klopp has made only two changes to his side from their win over City at the week. Henderson gets the nod to return in the middle of the park for Keita, while Matip is restored to the back four ahead of Konate.

Cristiano Ronaldo saved United's blushes against Norwich City in their last outing, scoring a hat-trick, including a late free-kick to secure a 3-2 at home. Ralf Rangnick's men are not out of the race for the Champions League due to the failures of both Tottenham and Arsenal at the weekend to further strengthen their claims for a top-four spot. However, the Red Devils need to a run of victories to move back above their rivals. Their recent performances suggest that could be beyond them unless they conjure a suprise triumph this evening.
The big matches keep coming for Liverpool in their bid to overhaul Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Fresh from their victory over City at Wembley in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, the Reds can put the pressure on Pep Guardiola's men with a victory over United tonight. Their draw against City in their last Premier League match ended a run of 10-straight victories. Jurgen Klopp knows that his team need to keep winning to continue their push for the top-flight crown. They require another ruthless outing tonight.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.
