The hosts boast a strong defensive record at home and we are backing them to claim the win they need without conceding against their opponents

Colombia currently occupy the third of CONMEBOL's four automatic World Cup qualfying spots and a victory at home to Paraguay in the penultimate game of the campaign would put them in a strong position going into the final round of games.

Los Cafeteros are tough to beat on home soil, where only Argentina have won a World Cup qualifier since 2009, yet simply avoiding defeat is not Colombia's aim as three points would be absolutely vital.

Their opponents, similarly, know that realistically only a win will do to keep alive their slim hopes of making it to Russia next year, and Paraguay have had some eye-catching results on the road; La Albirroja have only won three matches away from home, but the most recent of those two victories have come in Argentina and in Chile.

Indeed, last month saw them thrash the continental champions 3-0 in Santiago, and while Paraguay are far from the most attractive team, they can be higly effective.

Bet365, who are live streaming this crucial clash for UK-based customers, offer the hosts at 2/5 (1.40) while the visitors can be backed at 15/2 (8.50) and the draw is offered at 10/3 (4.33)

Colombia, as previously mentioned, remain tough to beat on their own turf and that is down is some part to their defensively solidity. Jose Pekerman's side have conceded just five goals in eight home matches, with only runaway leaders Brazil conceding fewer.

Prior to Paraguay's surprise 3-0 victory in Chile in their previous away game, the visitors had only scored four goals in seven matches on the road, and their current total of seven goals in eight games remains low.

Opposing both teams to score is offered at just 8/13 (1.61) but instead we will take the price of 6/5 (2.20) for Colombia to win to nil, which should offer some value; indeed, this bet has paid out in five of Colombia's seven wins in qualifying, and with Paraguay failing to score in four of their last seven away qualifiers this seems like a logical selection.
