Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Chelsea are next in action in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Liverpool are also in EFL Cup action in their last-four clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.
Chelsea and Liverpool play out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge, although the result favours neither team and their title aspirations. The Reds marched into a two-goal lead courtesy of goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, displaying a clinical edge in the Chelsea box. However, the Blues battled back before half-time through a stunner from Mateo Kovacic and a precise effort from Christian Pulisic. Both teams pressed in the second half, but could not conjure a winner. Chelsea remain in second place and Liverpool are in third as both sides remain well off the pace of Manchester City at the top of the table.
90' + 3' Both teams are attempting to snatch a late winner. As it stands, Manchester City are the big winners today.

81' Kovacic goes down in the final third as Keita catches the midfielder with an outstretched leg. Chelsea have a free-kick in a dangerous position.
C. Hudson-Odoi
K. Havertz
79' Havertz is withdrawn by Tuchel for the closing stages and is replaced by Hudson-Odoi.

61' Havertz has space down the right flank and he whips a dangerous cross to the near post, but Kelleher manages to gather ahead of Pulisic.
58' MENDY AGAIN! The keeper is on form to push a drive from Mane past the left post. Mane exchanges a one-two with Salah to surge to the edge of the Chelsea box. He goes for the strike on his right foot that travels at speed towards the target, only to be denied by Mendy.

46' We're back under way at Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool will feel that they have let Chelsea off the hook after storming into a 2-0 lead. The Reds have been vulnerable at the break of late, and they will be concerned that the Blues were able to break back into the contest. At the other end, there have been ample opportunities for Salah and Mane to find space, so there should be further opportunities on offer in the second half.
It has a been a frenetic first half at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea and Liverpool head into the break all square at 2-2 in their Premier League clash. Sadio Mane fired the Reds ahead after capitalising on a mistake from Trevoh Chalobah. Mohamed Salah then extended their lead with a fine finish. However, the Blues responded through a stunner from Mateo Kovacic before Christian Pulisic levelled with a composed strike.
45' + 3' CLOSE! Mount drags an effort on the half-volley inches wide of the left post. Havertz is played into acres of space down the right flank and he cuts inside to shoot. Liverpool get enough men back to quell his effort, but the ball deflects to Mount. He shoots on the turn, only to see it travel a whisker wide.

There's a slight delay for a VAR check for offside, but the goal stands.
41' Havertz probes down the right flank and wins a free-kick courtesy of a loose challenge from Milner.
39' Havertz catches Van Dijk with a late boot on Liverpool's left flank, but the referee only awards a free-kick to the visitors for the challenge.
36' CHANCE! Alexander-Arnold releases Salah through on goal once more. He surges into the final third, but is closed down by Chalobah. Salah regains possession and cuts back to shoot on his left foot, only to see his effort diverted behind by Azpilicueta.

12' Mount angles a ball over the top for Alonso to chase, but it just evades the outstretched boot of the Spaniard in the penalty area.
S. Mané
9' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! MANE FIRES LIVERPOOL AHEAD!!!!!!!!!! 1-0!!!!! Mane capitalises on a mistaken from Chalobah and hammers a left-footed strike into an empty net. Chalobah tries to head a cross from Jota away from danger, but slips and guides the ball straight to Mane. The Senegalese rounds Mendy before dispatching his effort past Silva on the line.
7' CHANCE! Havertz closes down Alexander-Arnold in possession and the loose ball falls perfectly for Pulisic in front of goal. The American tries to round Kelleher, but the keeper sticks out a hand and pushes it away from him before Van Dijk clears the danger.
6' SAVE! Chalobah loses out to Mane in the Chelsea half and it allows the forward to play Salah through on goal. Salah shoots first time under pressure from Silva, but Mendy produces a fine stop to deny the Egypt international.

1' We're under way at Stamford Bridge.
After losing four consecutive Premier League games against Liverpool between 2019 and 2020, Chelsea are unbeaten in their last two against the Reds (W1 D1), though both of these games have come at Anfield.
Suspected positive COVID-19 tests have ruled Alisson, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino out of action this afternoon for the Reds. Klopp himself is missing from the touchline after contracting COVID-19. Kelleher gets the nod to replace Alisson between the posts. Konate slots into the back four alongside Van Dijk, while Tsimikas continues at left-back with Andy Robertson still suspended. Milner moves into the midfield from the bench to replace Oxlade-Chamberlain from the defeat to Leicester.
Chelsea have made five changes to their side that drew against Brighton last time out. Lukaku has been dropped from the squad after making comments about his role and happiness at the club. Jorginho and Hudson-Odoi drop to the bench, while Reece James misses out due to injury. Silva, Chalobah, Kante, Havertz and Alonso come into the fold for Tuchel's men this afternoon.
LIVERPOOL SUBS: Naby Keita, Joe Gomez, Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, Owen Beck, Neco Williams, Tyler Morton, Marcelo.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Caoimhin Kelleher; Tent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Konstantinos Tsimikas; Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner; Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane.
CHELSEA SUBS: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho, Saul Niguez, Ross Barkley, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr, Harvey Vale, Lewis Hall.

Liverpool have also been knocked off the pace of City at the top of the table, suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City last time out. Jurgen Klopp's men previously dropped points on the road against Tottenham and are now staring up at City, who are now 12 points clear of the Reds before kick-off. Matters will only get harder for Klopp when Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane leave for the Africa Cup of Nations, putting huge pressure on the Merseysiders to earn all three points this afternoon.
Chelsea conceded an agonising late equaliser at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion during the week, which has knocked them further off the pace of Manchester City at the top. The Citizens' winning streak has put the pressure on the Blues and Liverpool to respond, but three draws in the last five games has resulted in Thomas Tuchel and his team falling behind in the race for the title. They cannot afford another slip-up, while matters off the field have taken the headlines regarding the happiness of Romelu Lukaku at the club. Tuchel and the Blues face a crucial afternoon.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
