Commentary

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next game. Until then though, it's goodbye.
A draw means that both sides share an unwanted point, and although it's made no difference in position for rock-bottom Burnley, Watford have climbed one place to 18th, ahead of Newcastle on goal difference. Both sides are just one win or less away from safety, and with the tightness of this season's Premier League, who's to say that both won't escape the drop.
Although he didn't see out the entirety of the 90 minutes, Joao Pedro provided some much-needed spark in Watford's attack. The Brazilian forward finished the game with four shots, two of which were on target, as well as one key pass, signalling that he may be the player, if there is to be one, whom can create the goals and secure the points needed, to keep Watford in the division.
It finishes goalless, and whilst there were decent chances here and there, it was a game that, for large spells, had 0-0 written all over it. Neither side could really afford not to win, however both teams were unable to find that clinical finish to separate the two, and end the game with a point apiece. It's a point that neither side will have wanted but will have to accept, as at this stage of the season, every single point is valuable, particularly for teams who may be waving goodbye to the top-flight at season's end.
90' + 2' FULL-TIME: BURNLEY 0-0 WATFORD.
T. Cleverley
Yellow Card
90' + 1' Cleverley slides into Westwood as the two compete for a loose ball, and the Watford substitute is booked for his troubles.
90' We'll play two additional minutes and the end of this game. It's going to be a very nervy finish indeed!
88' OVER!!! Cornet steps up to take the free-kick, which hits the wall and bounces over and behind for a corner to the hosts!
87' Weghorst is sandwiched between Cathcart and Kucka and wins the free-kick for Burnley, located just outside the box in a very dangerous position for Watford to deal with.
85' SAVED!!!! Hernandez races towards the box and has two efforts, both of which are blocked. The second falls to Cleverley, whose drilled, low effort forces a fingertip save from Pope!
J. Hernández
João Pedro
83' Pedro comes off in Watford's latest change, and he's replaced by Juan Cucho Hernandez.
81' A deep Watford free-kick is swung into the box, and Kucka meets the ball first, albeit it hits his hand and goes behind for a goal-kick, despite the referee not seeing the infringement.
79' Burnley come forward once again and Pieters has time to shoot, and he does so, fizzing a looping effort which sidles just wide of the post.
78' WIDE!!! A cross comes in from the right and Rodriguez meets it with a neat glancing header! It looks to be on target, but just edges agonisingly wide of the post and Watford survive!
76' This game is finally starting to open up a tad, and that's good news for the neutral with renewed hope of seeing a goal!
74' WHAT A CHANCE!!! Cornet engineers shooting space on the edge of the area and fires a shot that Foster beats away! Roberts crosses from the follow-up, but neither Weghorst nor Rodriguez can get on the end of it! The hosts surely would've taken the lead there!
72' Burnley break forward through Tarkowski and outnumber Watford, however Weghorst chooses to shoot rather than cross from an impossible angle and his effort deflects behind for a corner.
71' WIDE!!! A Watford corner is put into the box, and the ball hits the head of Mee and goes just wide of Pope's left-hand post! That would've been disastrous for the Burnley captain!
T. Cleverley
E. Kayembe
70' Watford's first change will see Kayembe withdrawn in place of Tom Cleverley.
69' Femenia and Kucka link up in midfield, until the former is clipped from behind by Pieters, winning a free-kick for the Hornets as they look to progress up the field.
68' Pieters looks to cross, aiming for Cornet, but it's an inaccurate ball that Foster can catch under little pressure.
J. Rodríguez
A. Lennon
66' Lennon will come off in Burnley's first change, and Jay Rodriguez replaces him.
64' The improvement of Weghorst in this second half is notable, however it's clear that Cornet is still the danger man for Burnley. He's had two shots so far, with one on target, as well as a key pass and one offside.
62' A Roberts cross from the right is aimed for Weghorst, but the bouncing ball just won't sit up for the Burnley striker and Foster eventually gathers the ball.
60' SAVED!!! Kucka fires a first-time cross into the box, and Pedro rises highest to head towards goal. It's the crispest of connections, but he fires the effort right at Pope, who saves at the second time of asking!
58' Sissoko wins the ball in midfield and finds Sema on the left. He looks to cross, but it's a poor final ball that is well in front of his forwards and Pope gathers possession.
56' A loose pass from Mee is intercepted by Pedro, who breaks at speed. He has King in support but it's a poor pass to him, and King can only fire his cross into the side netting of Pope's goal.
55' Since that early Weghorst chance 20 seconds into the half, it's been a slow burner to say the least so far. Neither side wants to lose nor give an inch, it seems, and it may take something very special to break the deadlock here.
53' Another long throw from Roberts is aimed towards Weghorst, but the Burnley striker mistimes his jump, missing the ball, and the Watford defenders deal with the threat and clear the danger.
51' BLOCKED!! The ball falls to King in the box, who cuts inside and looks to shoot. He gets his effort away, but Mee is in the way to block the shot for Burnley.
50' Tarkowski hacks down Pedro to grant Watford a free-kick on the left wing.
48' Weghorst's proving to be handful in the second half already, as he flicks a long ball on for Lennon to chase. The winger gets to the ball, but is quickly dispossessed by Kamara.
46' OFF THE BAR!!! Weghorst steams into the area and shoots low, but a deflection takes the ball bouncing high off the bar! Watford do clear eventually, but what a chance for the hosts straight out of the gate!
46' Burnley kick off the second period, and this game could go either way!
The teams head back out for the second half, and here's hoping a breakthrough goal comes sooner rather than later!
Kucka has had a very impressive first 45 minutes for the Hornets, and as well as having one shot and key pass apiece, he also won the ball eight times and won three fouls, as he inspired Watford's improvement towards the back end of the half.
A first half not shy of chances but lacking in that clinical quality! Burnley's plethora of early chances didn't warrant a goal, but did show some signs of a fruitful partnership between Weghorst and Cornet. However, Watford grew into the game as the half progressed and produced some decent chances of their own. Neither team could find a breakthrough though, and this game is still there to be won!
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: BURNLEY 0-0 WATFORD.
45' + 1' VAR checks the replays, but deems no foul was committed and so the first half can end as originally intended!
45' + 1' PENALTY??? The referee blows for half-time, but Watford's players protest for a penalty after a Sema volley looks to have caught the hand of Roberts! Off to VAR we go!
45' + 1' We're into one minute of added time at the end of this first half.
D. Stephens
Yellow Card
45' Stephens catches Pedro in the face as the Watford forward rises for a high ball, and is booked by the referee.
44' WIDE!!! Kucka gets the ball in space 25 yards from goal, and looks to find the opposite corner with a fizzed effort! It's well wide, but he has been very lively in the last few minutes!
42' Of all sides he’s met at least four times in the competition, only against Bournemouth does Burnley boss Sean Dyche have a higher win rate than his 63 per cent against Watford, winning five of his eight games in the competition against his former club.
40' OFF THE LINE!!! It's chaos in the box as several Watford efforts are blocked away from the goalmouth, before Lennon eventually gets the ball away!!!
39' SAVED!!! Sema finds King on the run, who races into the box. He shoots on the angle, forcing a low save from Pope's legs resulting in a Watford corner!
38' Burnley come forward in numbers with five ahead of Stephens. He picks the heavily marked Cornet though, who is crowded out and easily dispossessed by the Watford defenders.
37' Watford haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 29 Premier League games – only three sides have ever had longer runs without a shutout in the competition; West Brom (34), Blackburn (30) and Wolves (30).
35' Sema is down in a heap after a tangle with the much bigger Weghorst injures him. Medical staff rush on to give him treatment, but the Watford winger is soon back on his feet.
33' Cornet looks to link up with Lennon on an underlapping run, but a slight deflection takes the ball straight into the waiting arms of Foster.
31' Burnley are averaging just 39.6% possession, and 323 passes per game in the Premier League this season – both are their lowest averages across a single campaign in the competition.
29' CHANCE!!! Kucka creates space in the box and cuts the ball back for King. He looks to shoot, but pressure from Mee forces King to scuff the shot and Sema's follow-up is also cleared!
27' Lennon and Cornet both look to engineer shooting chance inside the Watford box, but both are denied by last-ditch challenges from Hornets defenders!
26' Lennon crosses for Weghorst in a scoring position, but a vital touch from Cathcart diverts the ball away and Watford survive!
25' Kucka wins the ball in midfield and powers forward for the Hornets. He finds Pedro, but his cross is over the heads of King and Sema, allowing Burnley to deal with the danger.
24' A poor clearance from Tarkowski gives Watford a crossing chance out wide, however Femenia wastes that chance by firing his cross straight behind the goal and out.
22' Burnley have won just one of their last 20 Premier League games, losing 11. However, the Clarets are unbeaten in four home games, winning one and drawing three.
J. King
Yellow Card
20' King backs into Tarkowski and catches the Burnley defender with a stray elbow. A soft free-kick, but he's booked for his troubles, and receives the game's first yellow card.
18' CHANCE!!! Sema finds Pedro inside the box, and the Watford striker almost creates enough room to shoot before Tarkowski arrives to steal the ball and clear the danger! That's the first real chance Watford have been able to muster!
16' Burnley have won just one of their last seven Premier League home games against promoted clubs, though that victory did come in their last such game, a 3-1 win against Brentford in October.
15' Stephens looks to try a shot from the edge of the area, but his looping effort lands on the top of Foster's net for a Watford goal kick.
13' WIDE!!! A long Burnley throw is headed away by Watford, and the ball falls to Peters who smashes the volley towards goal!! It takes a deflection to send it behind, and the hosts have yet another corner!
11' SAVED!!! Weghorst puts Cornet through a hole and the Ivorian races into the box. He fires a shot on goal which Foster has to beat behind for a corner!!! First real chance of the game, and the first glimpse of Burnley's new striking partnership!
10' Watford have won just one of their last 12 away league games against Burnley, a 3-1 victory in August 2018.
8' Lennon goes down in the box under pressure from Kamara, but the referee waves play on for a Burnley corner.
6' Cathcart slips over looking to control a loose ball and Weghorst is nearly through on goal, however Femenia is back to cover for Watford and retain possession.
5' Cornet links up with McNeil, who looks to shoot from the edge of the box, however his left-footed effort sails over the crossbar.
5' Burnley have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three league games against Watford, as many as they’d managed in their previous 20 against the Hornets.
3' There's a scramble in the box following a wide free-kick from Burnley, but Watford eventually deal with the threat and look to break on the counter.
1' Watford kick us off, and the game is off and running at Turf Moor!
The teams make their way out onto the pitch, and we're not far away from kick-off now!
Roy Hodgson’s maiden Watford lineup sees him make four changes to the XI that lost 3-0 to Norwich in Ranieri’s last match. In come Ben Foster, Craig Cathcart, Juraj Kucka and Ken Sema, as the Hornets look to win, and escape the drop zone.
The big inclusion for Burnley is a big one indeed, as six foot six striker Wout Weghorst starts up front to make his debut for Sean Dyche’s side, alongside Maxwel Cornet who has returned following his exploits in the Africa Cup of Nations.
WATFORD SUBS: Daniel Bachmann, Jeremy Ngakia, William Troost-Ekong, Imran Louza, Tom Cleverley, Adam Masina, Ashley Fletcher, Christan Kabasele, Juan Hernandez.
WATFORD (4-3-3): Ben Foster; Kiko Femenia, Craig Cathcart, Samir, Hassane Kamara; Juraj Kucka, Edo Kayembe, Moussa Sissoko; Ken Sema, Josh King, Joao Pedro.

BURNLEY (4-4-2): Nick Pope; Connor Roberts, James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Erik Pieters; Aaron Lennon, Ashley Westwood, Dale Stephens, Dwight McNeil; Maxwel Cornet, Wout Weghorst.
It’s a first match in charge for new Watford boss Roy Hodgson, who is Watford’s third manager of the season having replaced the sacked Claudio Ranieri in late January.
It may be too early in the season to call this match a ‘six-pointer’, however both sides will be desperate for a win, given that Watford and Burnley occupy spots 19 and 20 in the table respectively.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this Premier League fixture, between Burnley and Watford from Turf Moor.
