EA Sports have released a list of the highest rated MLS players in FIFA 23 and there are plenty of familiar faces.

The division's popularity continues to rise on an annual basis and, subsequently, so do the players competing in the USA.

Those players will be available for use both in Ultimate Team and FIFA's other game modes when the new iteration of the popular video game franchise releases on Friday, September 30.

Unsurprisingly, the list of highest-rated players is dominated by Designated Players and here are the top 10.

    There are four MLS players who have been given a 79 rating on FIFA 23. The first of those is Seattle Sounders captain Nicolas Lodeiro who is currently playing his seventh season for the club.

    Emanuel Reynoso is in the midst of a brilliant season for Minnesota United with 10 goals and five assists in 27 MLS appearances. Because of the level of performance he has been turning in, he has been rewarded with a 79 rating.

    Since leaving Europe for the MLS, Chicharito has stood out for LA Galaxy. Despite being in the headlines for all the wrong reasons following his failed panenka recently, he still holds a very strong record of 34 goals in 66 games for the Galaxy.

    Lucas Zelarayan has made quite the name for himself in the MLS with Columbus Crew. In his last 57 matches, he has scored 21 goals and added nine assists - a very handy return for an attacking midfielder.

  5. =5 | Carles Gil | CAM | 80

    As the fourth CAM on this list already, Carles Gil is the first of those rated 80 and above. He has been excellent for New England Revolution in the last few years and he is the current holder of the Landon Donovan MLS Most Valuable Player award.

  6. =5 | Hector Herrera | CM | 80

    Following a long period of plying his trade in Europe with Porto and Atletico, Hector Herrera chose to make the move to the MLS with Houston Dynamo this summer. The Mexican has only made eight appearances for his new club so far but the early signs have certainly been encouraging.

  7. =3 | Carlos Vela | RW | 81

    Carlos Vela has been one of the stand-out players in the MLS since joining LAFC back in 2018. He is currently enjoying another productive campaign with nine goals and nine assists so may feel slightly hard done by to see his FIFA rating drop from 83 to 81.

  8. =3 | Gareth Bale | RW | 81

    There are a number of similarities between Gareth Bale and Vela's FIFA 23 cards. Both play for LAFC, both are RW and both are perhaps harshly 81 rated. The decline of the Welshman's rating has continued this year as he has chosen to explore a new challenge outside of Europe.

  9. =1 | Lorenzo Insigne | LW | 84

    There are two players sharing the crown as the highest-rated MLS player in FIFA 23. The first of those is Lorenzo Insigne who somewhat surprisingly swapped Napoli for Toronto FC over the summer. He has already shown his quality with six goals and two assists in his opening nine appearances.

  10. =1 | Giorgio Chiellini | LAFC | CB | 84

    The other Italian to make the high-profile switch to the MLS this summer is also 84 rated. Giorgio Chiellini made quite the splash when his arrival at LAFC was announced but his highlight at the club so far was the rather strange handball that he somehow avoided a red card for.
