Three massive points send Inter sky-rocketing up the table from the lows of seventh to the highs of fourth, back in the Champions League qualification places (for now). They've just four points behind Lazio in second, who miss out on the chance to delay Napoli's title confirmation - the league leaders can now win Serie A against Salernitana at the Stadio Diego Armanda Maradona later today!

While Martinez will take most of the plaudits for his two goals - coming from a total of six attempts yielding a total xG of 1.39. However, Romelu Lukaku's work in the final third was immense, setting up both the equaliser for Martinez and Gosens' flying volley to turn the game around. Those assists were two of five big chances the Belgian created, as well as completing five touches in the box and 16 final-third passes. Engaging in 12 total duels, Lukaku won seven, including four in the air and two of four dribbles. Combo.

What a result for the Nerazzurri! 1-0 down in the second half and staring a sixth defeat in eight in the face, the introduction of Lautaro Martinez changed their fortunes in the latter stages. He latched onto a clever ball from Lukaku to scythe home the equaliser, and the Belgian again turned provider for Robin Gosens to volley Inter into the lead inside the last 10 minutes. Martinez popped up again to punish an error from Vecino, making the scores 3-1 with injury time looming to complete a remarkable Nerazzurri comeback! Lazio had their chances earlier in the half, but as soon as the hosts equalised, it was one-way traffic towards victory for Inter who climb to fourth in the table.

90' + 1' We're into SIX additional minutes at San Siro, but with the way this second half as gone, you wouldn't imagine Lazio will be able to claw anything back from here!

Bearing down on goal, his initial shot is saved by Provedel, but the ball ricochets back into the Argentine's path and Martinez slots it into the empty net. 3-1 to Inter, and the Nerazzurri will claim the points after completing a remarkable late turnaround!

89' Alberto's cross is fizzed in low from the free-kick, but Onana commands his box well to claim the ball before anyone can prod it goalwards.

88' Lazzari knocks the ball past Barella and races in behind the midfielder, but is shunted to the floor to give Lazio a late free-kick from out wide.

65' SAVED!!! A cross-field pass into the area is brought down skilfully by Calhanoglu, who stands up his marker before finding Dimarco. His first-time shot is blasted low and hard, but Provedel gets down quickly to tip the ball around the outside of his left post!

64' Lukaku shrugs off the challenge of Casale and fires a low cross into the box. The ball takes a deflection, and Provedel can't keep it in play as Inter win a corner!

55' WIDE!!! So very close for Inter. Dimarco whips another low across into the area, which Barella meets on the volley. The ball heads goalwards off the outside of his right boot, but creeps agonisingly wide of the far post! What an equaliser that would've been!

53' Mkhitaryan presses with intent to win the ball back high up the field, and Dimarco plays in Correa down the left. He's got plenty of options in the box to aim at, but woefully miscues his left-footed cross and can only send the ball into the advertising boards behind the goal!

52' Brozovic has shooting space but tees Dimarco up to cross. The ball is fizzed in at speed but evades both Lukaku and Dumfries at the far post, and Barella is unable to keep the ball in play!

Barella was everywhere in midfield for Inter as they chased an equaliser, going very close to scoring it himself with a brilliantly struck half-volley. He's completed 14 final-third passes, creating three chances in the process, and has won two of his three duels, also winning possession twice and gaining two free-kicks for his side. Verve.

The half-time whistle goes, with a previously dominant Inter lucky to only be 1-0 down at the break! The Nerazzurri started firmly on the front foot testing Provedel through shots from Brozovic, Dimarco and Mkhitaryan before the latter finished off an exquisite move to score what appeared to be the opener. A heavily delayed offside decision denied Inter though, and Lazio more than made up for their let-off, going up the other end to score just minutes later after Anderson capitalised on Acerbi's effort. Mkhitaryan and Barella both went close to notching an equaliser, before Onana was called into action at the other end to deny Immobile and Romagnoli in first-half stoppage time!

45' + 1' SAVED AGAIN!!! Alberto's corner from the right finds Romagnoli in the centre of the box, but he can't get a clean enough connection on his header and Onana holds the ball from point-blank range!

45' + 1' SAVED!!!! Lazio go oh so close to making it two!! Acerbi is again dispossessed and Immobile races clear with the ball, with his low shot into the far corner parried brilliantly by Onana! Anderson arrives to tap in the rebound, but the ball takes a deflection and bounces over the bar!

45' We'll play one additional minute at the end of the first half, as Inter push for a late equaliser.

44' Lukaku shows great strength and skill to bring down and keep a long ball into the Lazio box. He clips the ball to the back post with Dimarco arriving, but the cross is overhit and sails behind for a goal kick.

37' OVER!!! Lukaku's flick finds Mkhitaryan on the edge of the box, who plays a one-two with Barella. On receiving the return pass, the Armenian goes for goal, striking a first-time shot which takes a lick of paint off the crossbar at it flashes over!

34' That opener was the eighth goal scored by Anderson so far in 2022-23, and the fourth time in which he's opened the scoring in league matches. Earlybird.

He threads a peach of a throughball into Correa's path, who cuts it back for Mkhitaryan to stroke the ball home! 24' Darmian and Lukaku play a one-two on the edge of the box and the latter crosses into the middle. Correa's underneath it, but can't get any control on his header and sends the ball well over the bar!

22' SAVED!!! A pinpoint kick from the boot of goalkeeper Onana finds Barella on the run down the right flank. He cuts inside and squares for Mkhitaryan on the edge of the box, whose first-time finish sails straight into Provedel's gloves!

20' CHANCE!! Good link-up play from Inter as a series of flicks allows Barella to tee up D'Ambrosio. His cross into the middle is missed by everyone and falls to Brozovic, who looks to find D'Ambrosio with a throughball inside the area but the defender can't control it!

18' Bastoni is in an advanced position down the left and fires a cross into the box, but it's massively overhit and doesn't even find grass before going behind for a goal kick!

Prior to last weekend’s 1-0 loss at Torino, Lazio had been on an eight-game unbeaten streak, and won all but one of these games. Joint-top scorers Ciro Immobile and Mattia Zaccagni netted three and two goals respectively over the course of that run, and the pair start up front at the San Siro, joined by Felipe Anderson in the Biancocelesti’s front three.

A barren run in front of goal for Lautaro Martinez coincided with Inter’s six-game winless streak, with the World Cup winner finally breaking his drought to add the third against Empoli. Romelu Lukaku had already netted a brace in the same game, and the Belgian starts ahead of Martinez to partner Joaquin Correa up front.
