Jose Peseiro has announced his starting XI for the Super Eagles’ international friendly against the Desert Foxes.

Nigeria take on 2019 African champions Algeria in a prestigious friendly billed for Tuesday.

As it stands, Jose Peseiro will tackle the fixture with a depleted team following injuries to key players.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese tactician has announced his starting line-up against the North Africans.

In the wake of his blunders against Algeria B, Maduka Okoye has been dropped while Francis Uzoho has been trusted in goal against the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations champions.

  • Calvin Bassey - Nigeria

The Ajax man is one of the most consistent Super Eagles players abroad. He gave away a penalty against the Algerians on Friday, nonetheless, he will partner Akpoguma against Algeria.

  • Kevin Akpoguma

The Germany-based defender has been handed a rare start ahead of Kenneth Omeruo in a depleted backline following injuries to William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun.

  • Ola Aina

Aina was part of the Super Eagles squad that leaked two goals against the home-based Algerians. He has been named in the starting XI ahead of Chidozie Awaziem. He would be hoping to show his class to coach Peseiro.

  • Zaidu Sanusi Porto 2021-22

The FC Porto man looked to have been frozen out of the Super Eagles squad. However, the absence of William Troost-Ekong due to injury means he will start.

  • Nigeria's Frank Onyeka

Onyeka has been named in Nigeria's starting team ahead of Joe Aribo. The player is expected to provide cover for the Super Eagles backline while moving forward occasionally to help the attack.

  • Alex Iwobi - Nigeria

The Everton man cemented his place in the Super Eagles line-up against Algeria thanks to his commanding displays that saw him nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

  • Ademola Lookman of Nigeria and Leicester City.

Despite a sluggish performance against Algeria B, the Union Berlin forward is expected to play on the right flank with Samuel Chukwueze out due to injury. He is likely to drift infield to allow Aina room on the overlap, while his mesmerising moves would create opportunities for strikers.

  • Moses Simon

In the absence of Ahmed Musa and William Troost-Ekong, the Nantes forward will captain the Super Eagles against the 2019 African champions.

  • Nigeria's Terem Moffi

The France-based striker is a surprise inclusion in the Super Eagles line-up against Algeria. A good performance could see him cement his place in Nigeria’s future matches.

  • Kelechi Iheanacho, Nigeria

Victor Osimhen is missing and this game provides the Leicester City man with a chance to prove his worth.

He will shoulder the goalscoring responsibilities against Djamel Belmadi’s men.
