South Africa registered a healthy 4-0 win over Sierra Leone three days ago and would love to keep the momentum against the Zebras

This is the Bafana Bafana team to start against Botswana in an international friendly match to be staged at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Hugo Broos is keen to get another win after a convincing positive outcome in their recent game against the Leone Stars.

South Africa are using the matches to prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, after missing out on the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar.

This is how they are lining up against the Zebras.

  • Veli Mothwa, Bafana Bafana, July 2021

    Goalkeeper: Veli Mothwa

Williams has been rested for this with Mothwa getting an opportunity to show his worth.

  • Khuliso Mudau, Bafana Bafana, June 2022

    Right Back: Khuliso Mudau

The Mamelodi Sundowns defender was an unused substitute against Sierra Leone. However, Broos has started him against Botswana ahead of Nyiko Mobbie.

  • Dillon Solomons, Kaizer Chiefs & Siyanda Msani, Richards Bay, August 2022

    Left-Back: Siyanda Msani

Despite Aubrey Modiba playing well against Leone Stars, Broos has opted to try Msani in that position.

  • Rushine De Reuck, Bafana Bafana, July 2021

    Centre-Back: Rushine de Reuck

He is a favourite of Broos and has enjoyed more game time in the national team under the Belgian.

  • Siyanda Xulu, Bafana Bafana, March 2021

    Centre-Back: Siyanda Xulu

Despite the Orlando Pirates central defensive combination of Nkosinathi Sibisi and Innocent Maela keeping a clean sheet against Sierra Leone, Broos is eager to try another centre-back pairing.

  • Sibusiso Mthethwa, Stellenbosch FC, November 2021

    Defensive Midfielder: Sibusiso Mthethwa

Luke le Roux has been replaced in midfield with Stellenbosch midfielder Mthethwa.

  • Teboho Mokoena, Mamelodi Sundowns, August 2022

    Central Midfielder: Teboho Mokoena

Mamelodi Sundowns' Mokoena has been given a chance to impress in central midfield alongside Mosele and Mthethwa.

  • Goodman Mosele, Bafana Bafana, June 2022

    Central Midfielder: Goodman Mosele

Mosele will be required to create scoring chances for the attackers. He was unused against Leone Stars.

  • Ashley du Preez, Bafana Bafana, September 2022

    Forward: Ashley Du Preez

The Kaizer Chiefs attacker has a big chance to stake his claim.

  • Pule Mmodi, Bafana Bafana, September 2022

    Forward: Pule Mmodi

He has scored four goals and provided an assist in eight PSL matches for Golden Arrows and Broos hopes he can have the same impact for Bafana.

  • Khanyisa Mayo, Bafana Bafana, September 2022

    Forward: Khanyisa Mayo

He has three goals and two assists this season and will be under pressure to match Lepasa who impressed against Sierra Leone.
