Nottingham Forest close in on Danilo


Nottingham Forest are closing in on the signing of Palmeiras midfielder Danilo for a fee of £16 million, according to The Telegraph.

Steve Cooper's side are finalising the last few details of the transfer and expected to announce shortly that Danilo is the club's second signing of the January transfer window.

Arsenal make new Mudryk bid


Arsenal have made a new bid for Mykhailo Mudryk and are getting closer to an agreement with Shakhtar, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Algeria international Ismael Bennacer has signed a new four-year contract with Serie A champions AC Milan, dealing a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool who were rumoured to be interested in him.

The France-born midfielder had 18 months left on his deal but the Rossoneri have now tied him down to a longer contract after his impressive form this season.

Bennacer has made 24 appearances in all competitions in 2022-23, scoring one goal while providing an assist, having established himself as one of the club’s key defensive midfielders following the departure of Franck Kessie.

Chelsea consider move for Real Madrid starlet


Chelsea are interested in signing Real Madrid starlet Rafa Marin in the summer, according to reports from the Telegraph.

The acquisition of the 20-year-old centre-back would feature as part of the club's policy of investing in youth, to go alongside recent recruits David Datro Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Andrey Santos.

While not yet turning out for Madrid's senior side, Marin has impressed for their Castilla team and at Under-21 level for Spain. The Blues join the likes of Juventus and RB Leipzig as parties interested in the youngster's signature.

Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo has attracted interest from a number of clubs after recently losing his place in Pep Guardiola's side, the Telegraph reports.

Despite being named in the PFA's team of the season in 2021-22, the Portugal international has started just one league game since the World Cup, and was brought off at half-time in that match against Chelsea.

Gilly Flaherty, the record appearance holder in the history of the Women’s Super League, has announced her retirement from football.

She joined Liverpool last summer and broke Jill Scott’s WSL appearance record in November when she took the pitch against Brighton to make her 176th appearance.

“I’ve taken the decision to retire from professional football. It isn’t a decision I’ve taken lightly but one I’ve reached after speaking with those closest to me. Losing my dad just before Christmas has left me heartbroken – for 22 years we shared our love of football and playing wise I don’t want to carry on without him by my side.

"Playing wise I know the right decision is for me to call it a day. The time is right for me to be around my family and to be nearest to those closest to me. I want to thank Liverpool, especially Beardy and Russ (Fraser) for bringing me to the club," she said in a statement.

Nottingham Forest are set to approach Atletico Madrid to manufacture a deal for centre-back Mario Hermoso, according to Mail Online.

They are looking to sign a defender in January to plug in the gaps at the back and the Spaniard has emerged as an option. The La Fabrica product has fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simone and has made just four league appearances. He has a contract with the Rojiblancos until June 2024.

Wolves chasing Dawson and Wan-Bissaka


Wolves are interested to sign West Ham centre-back Craig Dawson and Manchester United's right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports.

The Midlands club are in the 19th position in the league table and have shipped in 27 goals in 18 matches. They are in need of defensive reinforcements to survive the relegation battle and have zeroed down on Dawson and Wan-Bissaka.

Manchester United are keen to sign Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus in the summer, according to The Sun.

Ramos soared to the limelight after scoring a hat-trick against Switzerland for Portugal at the World Cup. He has also impressed with Benfica this season with 15 goals and seven assists in 25 games.

The Red Devils are also eyeing Kudus of Ajax after his impressive show in Qatar where he scored two goals.

Weat Ham are interested to sign Lorient's £25million-rated striker Terem Moffi after failing to land Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri, according to The Sun.

The Irons have struggled to score this season netting just 15 times in 18 matches and are desperate to add a striker to their roster. Moffi has been in good nick in Ligue 1 and has scored 11 goals in 17 games this season.

Chelsea set to reopen extension talks with Kante and Mount


Chelsea are eager to extend the contract of N'Golo Kante who will become a free agent in the summer, according to The Telegraph.

The Blues are also set to reopen contract talks with Mason Mount whose deal expires in June, 2024. The club is hopeful that they will be able to tie down both players with long-term contracts. Todd Boehly had been leading contract talks but is likely to hand over the job to Paul Winstanley and technical director Christopher Vivell after he stepped down from his position of interim sporting director.

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho is not eager to sign an extension with the club and is ready to leave as a free agent in the summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The 31-year-old is likely to head back to Italy and might rejoin Napoli.

Wolves are looking to strengthen their midfield and are in talks with Nice for a  £10m transfer of midfielder Mario Lemina, according to The Athletic.

The player has already played for English outfits Fulham and Southampton in his career.

Meanwhile, the Dail Mail reports that they are also interested to get Brazilian centre-back Felipe from Atletico Madrid to shore up their backline.

Atletico want Depay as Felix replacement


Atletico Madrid are keen to sign Barcelona forward Memphis Depay in order to replace Joao Felix, according to Sky Sports.

They are also looking into the possibility of signing Aubameyang. However, a FIFA rule prohibits a player from playing for more than two clubs in a season but can be registered with three. The Gabonese striker has already played for Barcelona and Chelsea.

However, if Depay indeed switches to Atletico, the Catalan club can make an effort to re-sign Aubameyang, who scored 13 goals in 18 starts in all competitions in a seven-month spell for them.

Newcastle ask Man Utd for McTominay (Keith Downie)


Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has told GiveMeSport that the Magpies recently enquired about signing Scott McTominay.

Newcastle now have the sort of money to go and sign. players from the Premier League's biggest clubs but it doesn't sound as though this move is likely.
