Newcastle close to new Bruno deal
Newcastle United are close to tying Bruno Guimaraes down to a longer-term deal, according to Football Insider.
The midfielder's current contract does not expire until 2026, but that has not stopped him being linked with the likes of Chelsea recently.
Vieira gives Zaha transfer update
Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has provided an update on the future of Wilfried Zaha, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
"Wilfried knows the position of the football club and the decision is going to be his. When he will be ready, we will listen to what he has to say. But everyone knows we want him to stay in our football club," he said.
"We want to grow with Wilfried as one of our leaders, but the decision has to be his. "he only focus at the moment is about how he has been training and how he is preparing himself to compete and to help the team to perform."
Zidane continues to be considered by Brazil
According to L'Equipe, Zinedine Zidane is among the names being considered to take over as manager of the Brazilian national team following Tite's departure after the World Cup.
Amid separate links between Zidane and the France job, meanwhile, Didier Deschamps could potentially continue with Les Bleus after leading them to the World Cup final.
It's unclear whether Zidane would rather hold out for the France position he's reportedly always wanted or be willing to tackle the Brazil challenge.
Arsenal making progress in Mudryk talks (Schira)
Talks are still progressing for Mykhaylo Mudryk to make a move from Shakhtar to Arsenal, reports Nicolo Schira. The winger has already reached an agreement in principle with the Gunners, but Newcastle are also reportedly interested in him.
Mudryk has made 49 appearances across three clubs in the Ukrainian Premier League, scoring nine goals and assisting on 12 more. He has played 29 of those matches with Shakhtar, and this season, he has scored seven goals and assisted six.

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is ready to sell three players, Matt Ritchie, Jonjo Shelvey, and Paul Dummett in January if they get the right offers according to ESPN.
The contracts of all three players expire at the end of the current season and it seems unlikely that the Magpies will further extend their stay.

The Blues are expected to complete the signing in the coming weeks for a fee of around €35 million.

Chelsea in touch with RB Leipzig over Gvardiol transfer
Chelsea continue to remain in touch with RB Leipzig over a possible transfer of Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol but the German club are expected to ask for more than €100m for the player according to Fabrizio Romano via GiveMeSport.
The journalist stated, "Now, Leipzig want way more than €90million. They hope to go for more than €100 million to make Gvardiol the most expensive centre-back ever. Chelsea are still working on it. They are still in contact with people close to the player and Leipzig."
