Commentary

Chelsea head home from Italy looking favourites to qualify for the last 16 from Group E. Milan have work to do in their remaining two games. That's all for now. Goodbye!
The win lifts Chelsea to the top of Group E on seven points, one ahead of RB Salzburg. They ended this game with 70 per cent possession and were overall very impressive. Milan stay third in the group, now three points behind the Londoners. They weren't that bad here, but Tomori's first-half red card really hampered them.
Chelsea's great start to life under Graham Potter continues! The Blues leave Milan with the victory from a mature performance, aided by Milan being down to 10 men for most of the game. Jorginho and Aubameyang scored the goals in the first half. All the visitors had to do was keep control in the second, and they managed to do that comfortably.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: MILAN 0-2 CHELSEA
90' + 3' Loftus-Cheek smashes the ball against a defender in the box. It rebounds to Gallagher, who forces a save from Tatarusanu before the offside flag goes up.
90' + 2' Milan are still showing signs of life as Rebic has an effort closed down. Chelsea have throttled them for the most part.
90' + 1' Origi gets Milan's first shot on target in injury time, bobbling a tame shot straight at Kepa. There'll be four more minutes of this.
F. Ballo
Yellow Card
90' Ballo-Toure's reckless challenge makes him the newest addition to the referee's book. It must have a lot of blank space.
Marc Cucurella
B. Chilwell
89' Chelsea substitution. Cucurella gets a late run-out at left wing-back. He replaces Chilwell.
S. Tonali
Yellow Card
89' Tonali's shown a yellow card for a crunching tackle. It's surprising that we've only seen one red card.
88' Chilwell spots an opportunity to shoots and floats the ball well wide of the right-hand post.
C. Gallagher
Yellow Card
85' Gallagher's booked for wasting time. He becomes the eighth player to see a card in this game.
84' This has been close to a perfect performance from Chelsea. There's no hint of Milan scoring, or even worrying Kepa at all.
82' Havertz beats the offside trap to latch onto a pass over the top. The substitute takes a touch with his left foot but can't control the ball. It goes out for a goal-kick.
81' Gallagher has a hopeful shot blocked. Milan get forward on the counter and huff and puff on the edge of Chelsea's box. Kepa ends up coming away with the ball.
D. Origi
Rafael Leão
80' Leao also heads off after a fruitless game. Origi takes his place on the pitch for Milan.
F. Ballo
T. Hernández
80' Milan also make more changes. Ballo-Toure takes Hernandez's place at left-back.
K. Havertz
P. Aubameyang
79' Chelsea substitution. Havertz replaces the scorer of their second goal, Aubameyang.
79' The Milan fans whistle as Chelsea keep possession. Jorginho takes a kick from Tonali and earns a free-kick.
78' Chelsea may have been playing against 10 men for most of this game, but they've been very easy on the eye here. They're in almost total control.
77' Gallagher takes the corner for Chelsea. Gabbia gets it away for Milan.
76' Loftus-Cheek pops a nice pass into the feet of Aubameyang in Milan's box. Dest gets a foot in to stop the Chelsea man from shooting. He'll have to settle for a corner.
75' Chalobah plays himself into trouble and Leao picks his pocket. The Milan forward has Rebic with him but doesn't seem to see him, and the attack breaks down.
73' Chelsea aren't giving Milan a sniff of the ball for now. The hosts must be getting tired from all the shuttling around they're being made to do.
71' Chalobah strides forward from centre-back and has a crack at goal. He isn't too far off target.
70' The corner comes out to Chilwell, who blasts over first time from range. That's optimistic at best from the Chelsea wing-back.
68' Loftus-Cheek rolls Azpilicueta in down the right. Hernandez gets across to concede a corner for Chelsea.
T. Pobega
Yellow Card
66' Pobega picks up a yellow card for scything down Loftus-Cheek. Chelsea are passing around Milan with ease.
64' To their credit, Milan are giving this a good go. Chelsea still haven't allowed them a shot on target yet though.
T. Pobega
I. Bennacer
62' Bennacer's game is over too. Pobega is his replacement for Milan.
A. Rebić
O. Giroud
62' Milan also make a few substitutions. Rebic replaces Giroud up front.
R. Loftus-Cheek
R. Sterling
62' Chelsea take the opportunity to make another change too. Loftus-Cheek replaces Sterling.
César Azpilicueta
R. James
62' James leaves the pitch, thankfully under his own steam. Azpilicueta replaces him at right wing-back for Chelsea.
61' James is back down on the turf again. It looks like he won't be able to carry on after all. That's bad news for Chelsea, and potentially for England with it being so close to the World Cup.
60' Leao beats James for pace down the left and finds Dest at the far post. The American goes for power in his shot and blazes over! That's a big opportunity wasted for Milan.
59' Hernandez's corner is flicked on by Giroud, to no avail. Milan are trying their hardest to get back into this game, but it's not happening at the moment.
57' After staying down a while, James looks able to play on. Meanwhile, Leao earns a corner for Milan.
56' Things are getting feisty again. James charges into a tackle with Hernandez and comes off the worse, giving away a foul and jarring his leg in the process.
54' Kovacic plays a fantastic.angled pass to free Chilwell down the left. Aubameyang can't quite get the flick he wants on the cross. James puts the ball back into the danger area, Kovacic fluffs his lines, and Tatarusanu saves from Aubameyang at point-blank range!
52' Chelsea get a corner down their left. Chilwell floats it towards Silva, who can't make a firm connection with it.
50' James' volley from the right of the box bounces wide. Chelsea are still making the most of their man advantage at the moment.
48' The half starts with chances at both ends! Seconds after Chilwell is flagged offside, Kepa blocks Leao's cross from the byline. Silva nicks the ball off the foot of Giroud to clear. Up the other end, Gallagher reaches Chalobah's pass to fire wide of the right-hand post.
46' Milan get the second half started. Hopefully the half-time break will have calmed both teams down a bit.
C. Gallagher
M. Mount
46' Chelsea make a half-time substitution. Gallagher replaces the influential Mount.
There were 17 fouls given in the first half, the most in the opening 45 minutes of a Champions League game so far this season. It's certainly been a bitty affair, perhaps due to some overzealous officiating. Chelsea won't mind a bit. Milan will mind quite a lot.
It's been an excellent start to the game for Chelsea, who go in at the break two goals to the good. The Blues have been cruising since Jorginho gave them the lead from the penalty spot in an incident which also saw Tomori sent off. Milan will argue that the referee has played more than his fair share in their struggles so far.
45' + 5' HALF-TIME: MILAN 0-2 CHELSEA
45' + 4' Chelsea earn a free-kick down their right. Mount swings it into the box. Leao heads it away.
45' + 3' Kovacic plays a splitting pass down the middle for Mount. Milan intercept it in the nick of time.
45' + 1' There'll be five minutes added onto the end of the first half, largely due to the penalty incident earlier.
45' Silva heads the corner off-target. Milan go up the other end and play's stopped as James takes an accidental whack to the face.
43' James chests the ball down to get past Kalulu and into the box. Milan manage to clear as far as Mount, who lashes low at goal from distance. Tatarusanu is called into action to keep the shot out and hand Chelsea a corner.
41' Chelsea work the ball smartly from left to right. It ends up with James, who carelessly scoops a cross-cum-shot high and wide.
39' Milan force a corner down their left. Giroud powers Hernandez's delivery well over the crossbar from the edge of the box.
S. Dest
Brahim Díaz
37' Milan finally make a change to adapt to going down to 10 men. Dest replaces Diaz to slot in at right-back.
R. Krunić
Yellow Card
35' Krunic is the latest Milan player to get booked for dissent after an ill-timed tackle. This game's been littered with fouls.
M. Mount
Assist
35' Mount's pass there was excellent. He's played a key role in both of Chelsea's goals so far. The Blues are in a commanding position now.
P. Aubameyang
Goal
34' GOAL! MILAN 0-2 CHELSEA! Sterling leaves Mount's cute round-the-corner pass for Aubameyang, who fires past Tatarusanu at the near post. That's what they brought the Gabon forward in to do!
33' Mount receives a pass with his back to goal and spins past Gabbia, tempting the Milan man into shoving him over.
M. Gabbia
Yellow Card
32' Gabbia's unhappy to be shown the yellow card for that challenge on Mount. He did catch the Englishman in the face, to be fair.
31' Hernandez attempts to test Chelsea's defence with the free-kick from the right but gets it all wrong. That's a poor effort from the Milan captain.
R. Sterling
Yellow Card
29' Sterling lands his name in the book for a crude challenge on Krunic. Both teams are looking irritable now.
29' Diaz sends a dangerous cross into Chelsea's box from the right. The Blues are able to win the first header and clear. Milan accept the throw-in.
27' A quick word on Jorginho's penalty. He's become the third Italian player to score against a side from his nation in the Champions League. He's successfully converted his last four penalties for Chelsea in this competition. He's as good a lock from the spot as they come.
26' Chance for Milan! Giroud finds the space for a free header and glances wide of the right-hand post. The Frenchman should have scored.
24' Sterling gets close enough to the box to shoot, but his effort is blocked. Chelsea might be able to really turn the screw on Milan now.
23' There's suddenly a fractious atmosphere in San Siro. Kovacic barges over Hernandez to stop the Frenchman's run. It's an obvious foul.
Jorginho
Penalty Goal
21' GOAL! MILAN 0-1 CHELSEA! Jorginho steps up, makes his customary hop, and curls his penalty kick coolly into the bottom left corner of the net. Milan will feel very hard done by.
O. Giroud
Yellow Card
20' Giroud's also shown a yellow card for his part in the argument. You can see why Milan are annoyed.
M. Mount
Yellow Card
20' There's a long discussion about the legitimacy of the decision, and Mount's booked for wading into it unnecessarily.
F. Tomori
Red Card
18' RED CARD FOR TOMORI! Wow! Not only do Chelsea have a penalty, but their former player Tomori has been sent off for denying Mount an obvious goalscoring opportunity! It looks harsh, as Mount stayed on his feet and managed to get his shot away, but it was a foul.
17' PENALTY FOR CHELSEA! James plays a delicious angled throughball for Mount down the right-hand channel. The midfielder shrugs off Tomori grabbing him to poke the ball at Tatarusanu, but the referee points to the penalty spot anyway!
15' Milan float the ball towards Chelsea's box, but the Blues deal with it with a minimum of fuss. Leao looks to jink towards goal but find his path blocked off.
13' Bennacer gets his legs in a tangle and Kovacic nips in to win the ball. The Croatian's surprised to have a free-kick given against him.
11' Sterling scampers down the left and bears down on the box. Bennacer makes a well-timed tackle to intercept the England winger's run.
9' Chelsea take the corner short and it doesn't work out. Milan attempt to counter, but Sterling gets a vital touch to nip it in the bud.
7' Chelsea are enjoying much of the early possession. Chalobah clips the ball over the top for Aubameyang to chase. Gabbia's forced to hook it behind for a corner.
5' Koulibaly's poor challenge gives Milan the chance to float the ball into Chelsea's box. Kepa claims the delivery easily.
3' Tonali's penalised for knocking a Chelsea player over. Chelsea get a free-kick.
1' The visitors Chelsea get this game underway!
Milan are winless in five meetings against Chelsea since winning the very first match between these two sides in the Fairs Cup in February 1966. However, they've never lost consecutive games against the Blues. Will the hosts get their revenge for last week's defeat? Let's find out!
There are two changes to Chelsea from last week's victory. Chalobah replaces the injured Wesley Fofana, while Jorginho replaces Loftus-Cheek in midfield. Silva makes his 100th Champions League appearance.
Milan boss Stefano Pioli makes three changes to his team from their humbling by Chelsea last week. Hernandez, Gabbia and Diaz come into the starting 11.

Three games in, Group E remains extremely tight with all four teams separated by just two points. Milan's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League last 16 were dented as they went down 3-0 to Chelsea in London last week. The Italian champions will welcome the chance to make amends here.
