He heads towards goal and his effort clips Dawa, before it rolls into the back of the net. West Ham are in control now.

West Ham United hold a 1-0 lead over FCSB at the break in their Europa Conference League clash. Pablo Fornals broke the deadlock just before half-time after latching onto Ben Johnson's ball over the top and firing a left-footed strike into the net. Replays show that he was offside, but without VAR, the goal was not chalked off. The Hammers are still good value for their lead and could have been further ahead if not for heroics from Stefan Tarnovanu.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: FCSB 0-1 WEST HAM UNITED
45' + 1' CHANCE! Space opens up for Edjouma to race through on goal in the inside-left channel. However, he slices his right-footed strike well wide of the target.

38' Bouhenna makes a vital challenge to halt Downes in the box just when it appeared the midfielder was going to get a strike away.
36' Scarles gets back for the visitors to knock Cordea's throughball away from Pantea on the overlap. Good tracking back from the 16-year-old.
35' SAVE! Tarnovanu denies Downes from close range. Fornals cuts in from the left flank and angles a cross into the box for Downes to attack. He steers a right-footed strike towards the target, but the FCSB keeper gets down to push his effort wide of the target.

Yellow Card

29' Popescu surges down the left flank into space, but Downes tracks him back all the way and wins back possession for the Hammers. Great defensive work from the youngster.

24' West Ham are starting to work their combinations in the final third. Gaps are starting to open in the FCSB defence.
22' SAVE! Mubama is denied by Tarnovanu with a fine reaction stop on the line. Scarles delivers a dangerous cross into the middle from the left flank that Mubama attacks on the stretch. Tarnovanu spreads himself to make the block before gathering Fornals' effort on the rebound.
20' Downes makes a burst down the right flank and fires a low ball across the face of goal that evades Mubama.
18' Popescu gets his foot on the ball down the left flank for a run at Johnson, but the defender does well to force him backwards. There is nothing between the sides in the early stages.
16' The home side are finding space on the counter down the flank as West Ham have not quite found a rhythm to their passing game in the final third.
14' Radunovic whips the ball into the box and it is headed clear as far as Popescu on the edge of the box. He launches an effort at goal on the half-volley that clears the bar.
14' Lanzini brings down Popescu on the charge down the left flank and FCSB win a free-kick in a useful position.
12' Cordea finds space in the final third and looks for a strike at goal from 25 yards, but he places his effort harmlessly wide of the right post.
12' Areola comes off his line to gather a loose ball and there is miscommunication between the keeper and Ogbonna as to who gathers a punt forward by Compagno. The defender ends up taking it away much to the bemusement of Areola.
10' BLOCK! Fornals combines with Lanzini and drives to the edge of the box. He drills a strike at goal, but sees his effort deflected wide of the target.
8' The Hammers are getting their foot on the ball early and are putting pressure on the home side.
5' SAVE! Fornals latches on to a cutback from Aguerd and fires low and hard towards goal, but his effort is well saved by Tarnovanu before the home side scramble the rebound away.
4' Coufal takes a loose touch at the back and it forces Coventry to scamper back to edge the ball away from Compagno before he can threaten.
3' Cordea clips a cross into the box from the left flank, but the visitors manage to clear their lines through Mubama after the ball bounces in the penalty area.
2' Radunovic brings down Downes after losing possession, handing West Ham a free-kick in a useful position on the right flank.
1' We're under way in this Europa Conference League match.

Fornals and Mubama lead the line for the Hammers. Mubama and Scarles make their first starts.
FCSB have made five changes to their side that lost to Universitatea Cluj last time out. Radunovic and Bouhenna come into the backline, while Oaida and Dulca get the nod in the middle of the park. Popescu starts alongside Compagno and Cordea in the final third.

West Ham have been extremely impressive in their Europa League Conference campaign to date, winning all five of their matches. David Moyes' men are through to the next stage of the competition at a canter, but will be looking to close out the group phase with a 100 per cent record. The Hammers were beaten last time out against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Moyes will be determined to re-ignite their momentum with a victory on the road.
FCSB have already been eliminated from the Europa Conference League after failing to win any of their previous five Group B matches. The Romanian outfit did hold Anderlecht to a 2-2 draw last time out in a spirited performance on the road. They will finish bottom of the group even if they are able to defeat the Hammers, but they will be determined to bow out with a strong display. FCSB did lose last time out in the Romanian Liga to Universitatea Cluj, prompting the departure of Nicolae Dica, so new manager Mihai Doru Pintilii will be looking for a response today.
