On Thursday, Orlando Pirates announced that they had acquired the services of Cameroon international Marou Souaibou until 2025.
The Indomitable Lion had a great spell with his former team Coton Sport whereby he won two league titles and went on to be crowned the 2022 Player of the Season.
Souaibou, who was recently linked with French side Clermont Foot, has joined his teammates as confirmed by the Soweto heavyweights in preparations for their forthcoming PSL game which is against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.
Here are the fans' reactions regarding Pirates' new forward.
Souaibou walks into the starting 11 of any team in South Africa currently and that should be common sense. Far better than [Peter] Shalulile and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana combined - Bana Malome
There is absolutely no player here you should have recalled [Boitumelo] Radiopane and Mabasa at least - Clement Nchabeleng
With a good supply of assists/chances then we are bound to punish our opponents. Welcome to Orlando Pirates - GT Letsoko
I feel sorry for Radiopane and all South African young players who dream of playing for Orlando Pirates. Well done to Kaizer Chiefs & Mamelodi Sundowns for giving opportunities to South African young players - Mfundo Zondo
We need to sign more Elite Level Players such as this one. Orlando Pirates Football Club must sign players who are either established National Team Players or they must be players who have the potential to represent their National Team. No more mickey mouse signings please - Mlungisi Zondo
He hasn’t touched the ball but he’s already better Bimenyimana - Chris Excel
Chances of him being useless are very high. We still have a problem with supply - Sizwe Mhayise
Play this man upfront with [Kermit] Erasmus hence he is more of creative than selfish so that we will see his potential - Andy Cece Ngcobo
I am from Cameroon, trust me when I say this guy is a combination of Halaand, Ronaldo, Messi, Ronaldinho, Mbappe, Neymar, and Benzema in one!!.. What a signing - Khitletsi
I am worried because he looks like Eva Nga but I have a faith in him we need goals - Reginald
