David Ornstein has suggested on the Football Daily podcast that in order to balance their books Chelsea could sell Trevoh Chalobah before the transfer window deadline.

Trippier signs contract extension at Newcastle


Kieran Trippier has signed a contract extension at Newcastle keeping him at the club until the 2024/25 season. He has lead Newcastle's march for Champions League football, and is part of a defensive unit that has kept 12 clean sheets in the Premier League this season.

PSG prepping third bid for Cherki


According to French outlet FootMercato, PSG are preparing a third bid for Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki. PSG are conscious that Lyon could definitively shut the door on a potential deal so they are treading carefully with the deal.

He has a goal and an assist to his name in Ligue 1 this season and would provide cover to their attacking department after the sale of Pablo Sarabia earlier this month.

Smalling still negotiating with Roma


Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chris Smalling is still in talks with Roma regarding a new contract, with his current deal expiring this summer.

He led them to their first ever continental success last season as Roma won the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League.

PSV want to sign Elanga


PSV are looking to strengthen their forward line and Manchester United's 20-year-old Swedish winger Anthony Elanga is an option. He has two assists in 19 appearances for United this season and is seemingly out of favour with Erik ten Hag.

Leicester have agreed a deal for Brazilian winger Tete from Shakhtar Donetsk according to John Percy from The Telegraph. He is currently on loan at Lyon in the French top division, but is expected to be Brendan Rodgers second signing of the January window despite interest from Leeds.

Chelsea join Liverpool in race for Berge


Chelsea and Liverpool look set to battle it out for the signature of Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge late on in the January transfer window, according to Football London.

The 24-year-old boasts four goals and three assists for the Blades this season, and is thought to have been scouted by the Blues since mid-December.

Gabriel Martinelli is set to sign a new four-and-a-half year deal with Arsenal, David Ornstein has revealed, taking his stay in North London up to the summer of 2027.

Bournemouth holding talks with Zaniolo

The 23-year-old has also been approached by AC Milan and Tottenham, but thus far these deals have stalled.

The talks come after the Cherries launched a €35 million (£30.7m/$38m) bid on Monday after the Italy international made himself available for a January transfer.

With Chelsea and Arsenal showing a keen interest in securing his signature, the Daily Mail reports that Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo is considering handing in a transfer request to force a move this January.

Sunderland land Leeds starlet Gelhardt


Sunderland have completed the loan signing of Leeds United starlet Joe Gelhardt, who boasts 15 Premier League appearances for Jesse Marsch's side this campaign.

Gelhardt said on the switch: “I know how big the club is and I’m really looking forward to meeting the lads and trying to help. I spoke with the Head Coach and the playing style seemed a perfect fit for me. I’ve watched Sunderland on the TV this season and seen some positive, attacking football and I can’t wait to get involved.”

Manager Jurgen Klopp lauded Stefan Bajcetic and expressed his happiness after he was handed a new long-term contract at Liverpool.

However, Alves has cooled down such rumours and told O Jogo, "It’s true that I was in London, but I am just arriving from Germany, where I was watching Edmond Tapsoba’s game. Bamba is not the only player I work with. He [Bamba] has a player profile that is clearly of interest to many clubs, but today he is a Vitória player and is only focused on Monday’s game in Chaves. Fichajes, via Ekrem Konur, reports that Arsenal are ready to go big with an offer of around £75 million to try and steal Moises Caicedo away from Brighton before the end of the January transfer window.

With concern over Mikel Arteta's squad depth, the report states they are willing to do anything for him to end up signing with them.
