FULL TIME: PERTH GLORY 2 NEWCASTLE JETS 2 - A thrilling second half in hot and testing conditions comes to an end at Macedonia Park! Newcastle dragged themselves back into the contest on the back of some Reno Piscopo magic - his classy strike from beyond the area gave Cameron Cook no chance. Perth regained the ascendency in the 79th minute thanks to some Mark Beevers courage in the air but it was cancelled out in the 88th minute when supersub Archie Goodwin popped up at the far post to head home and equalise. An opportunity for Perth to jump inside the top six goes begging and they remain 7th whilst the Jets sit one rung below in 8th place just one point adrift.

Perth weren't to be denied however and Luke Bodnar headed home in the 44th minute for his first A-League men's goal. If the first half is any indication, expect plenty of fireworks in the second stanza!
