The Buccaneers are keen to recover from a two-match winless run when they face unbeaten Stellies

Orlando Pirates will be searching for a fourth win of the season when they clash against Stellenbosch FC in a Premier Soccer League match at Danie Craven Stadium on Wednesday.

This is how co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids have decided their team should start:

  • Siyabonga Mpontshane, Orlando Pirates, November 2021

    GOALKEEPER - Siyanbonga Mpontshane

The 35-year-old shot-stopper will be hoping to make it two successive clean sheets as he continues to enjoy regular game time with Richard Ofori out injured.

Mpontshane kept his third clean sheet of the season in the league when Bucs drew 0-0 with Lamontville Golden Arrows last Saturday.

  • Bandile Shandu, Orlando Pirates, August 2021

    RIGHT-BACK - Bandile Shandu

The attack-minded full-back has made the right side of Pirates' defence his own after joining the club from Maritzburg United in July this year.

However, Shandu will have a huge task at hand when he faces the in-form Ashley du Preez, who scored a stunning goal against Kaizer Chiefs earlier this month.

  • Paseka Mako, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    LEFT-BACK - Paseka Mako

The Limpopo-born full-back is one of the few Pirates players, who have been consistent this season.

Mako is usually a threat to the opposing defence when he pushes forward and he will be keen to unsettle the Stellies backline.

  • Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Orlando Pirates, November 2021

    CENTRAL DEFENDER - Ntsikelelo Nyaza

The no-nonsense defender caught the eye on his return to the starting line-up against Arrows.

With Happy Jele out injured and Thulani Hlatshwayo having fallen out of favour, Nyauza captains Pirates once again.

  • Olisa Ndah, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

The dreadlocked centre-back has brought calmness and defensive solidity to the Pirates defence.

A tall defender with aerial presence and good tackling ability, Ndah has all the tools to stop Stellenbosch's dangerous centre forward Judas Moseamedi.

  • Ben Motshwari, Orlando Pirates & Sabelo Radebe, Kaizer Chiefs, August 1

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Ben Motshwati

The 30-year-old is back after being suspended by the club in September.

He will be starting for the first time this season and making a third league appearance.

  • Fortune Makaringe, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Fortune Makaringe

The absence of the injured Goodman Mosele has seen Makaringe enjoy regular game time in recent weeks.

Makaringe will be hoping to impress the Bucs technical team and re-cement his place in the starting line-up.

  • Collins Makgaka, Orlando Pirates, November 2020

    ATTACKING MIDFIELDER - Collins Makgaka

Makgaka makes his third start and features in his sixth match of the season.

  • Deon Hotto, Orlando Pirates, October 2020

    LEFT FORWARD - Deon Hotto

The Namibia international has under performed this season, but he remains a regular for the Buccaneers.

Hotto scored with a wonderful free-kick against Stellenbosch at Orlando Stadium in August this year and he will be confident of scoring again.

  • Terrence Dzvukamanja, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    RIGHT FORWARD - Terrence Dzvukamanja

The Zimbabwean is back in the starting line-up after coming off the bench against Arrows.

  • Kwame Peprah, Orlando Pirates, September 2021

    CENTRE FORWARD - Kwame Peprah

The Ghanaian forward is yet to find the back of the net in six outings. He would be keen to break his goal duck.
