Coach Arthur Zwane has named Kaizer Chiefs' starting eleven to face Richards Bay in a Premier Soccer League game on Saturday at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

After a demoralizing defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns, Amakhosi are under pressure to fight and secure a win in order to ease the pressure.

The injury to Ashely du Preez further adds pressure on the Soweto giants, who have not been effective in front of goal.

Here is how they line up:

  • Brandon Petersen

Chiefs have made a goalkeeping change after Bruce Bvuma conceded four goals against Sundowns.

Petersen has been brought in as Bvuma is benched.

  • Reeve Frosler, Kaizer Chiefs, April 2022

    Reeve Frosler

The left-back is partly to blame for the previous poor outing after missing a very clear chance against Masandawana.

As he starts once more, a solid performance at the back should be his priority as Chiefs feature in their second home game of the season.

  • Dillon Solomons, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2022

    Dillon Solomons

Solomons, who can also operate as a winger, has been deployed at right-back but is expected to add numbers upfront when Chiefs are attacking the opponents.

  • Zitha Kwinika, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2022

    Zitha Kwinika

Kwinika, who was yellow-carded against Sundowns, has maintained his place at the centre of the defence.

After conceding four, Kwinika and his defensive partners should hope for a far better game against the league debutants.

  • Njabulo Ngcobo, Kaizer Chiefs, February 2022

    Njabulo Ngcobo

He came on for Siyabonga Ngezana last time out and this time around, he has been drafted into the starting XI as his rival is dropped to the bench.

  • Siyethemba Sithebe Kaizer Chiefs

    Siyethemba Sithebe

He has overcome an injury scare that threatened to sideline him for this game and thus has been named ahead of Cole Alexander.

  • Yusuf Maart Kaizer Chiefs

    Yusuf Maart

One of the most consistent Chiefs starters since the campaign began.

Maart needs to be on top and dominate the midfield battle in order to give the Glamour Boys an upper hand in the encounter.

  • Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Kaizer Chiefs, April 2022

    Nkosingiphile Ngcobo

As a second-half substitute against Sundowns, Ngcobo looked solid and, for that matter, has been named among the first eleven.

  • Keagan Dolly, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2022

    Keagan Dolly

Expectations are high on Dolly, who previously scored against Maritzburg United, and a goal or more against Richards Bay will go a long way in boosting his morale as the season picks up speed.

  • Kgaogelo Sekgota of Kaizer Chiefs

    Kgaogelo Sekgota

Sekgota has returned to the starting XI and his pace, as witnessed against the Brazilians, could prove vital for Amakhosi, who are looking for their second victory of the campaign.

  • Khama Billiat Kaizer Chiefs

    Khama Billiat

He was a doubt for this encounter due to the flu but is fit to face Richards Bay.

He leads Chiefs’ attacks, and that means he carries a lot of expectation as far as the goalscoring mission is concerned.
