Fans have decided the order of this year’s GOAL50 lists, but the GOAL team are also sharing their top 10 picks

This year's GOAL50 has been unlike any other, as fans around the world have had their say on which men’s and women’s players had the best 2021.

Our team of writers are also getting involved, revealing their top 10s this week.

In this feature, GOAL South Africa's Austin Ditlhobolo has now compiled his list, which you can see below.

    Since the Poland football icon ended Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's dominance at the 2020 Best FIFA Football Awards by claiming the Men's Player gong, he has kept on going strong.

    Lewandowski's goalscoring exploits inspired his German club Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga and DFD Supercup this year, while he also scooped his first European Golden Shoe.

    He has been tipped by many as the favourite to win the 2021 Ballon d'Or.

    The glue that keeps the Italy national team and Chelsea midfield together, the Brazil-born midfielder is enjoying his best year as a professional footballer.

    After playing an instrumental role in helping Chelsea clinch the Uefa Champions League, Jorginho was an integral part of the Italy squad which won UEFA Euro 2020 and was later named the 2021 Uefa Men's Player of the Year.

    He also helped Chelsea clinch the 2021 Uefa Super Cup.

    He has been lauded by some as the best player in the world at the moment.

    The France international has seen his hard work on the pitch pay off as he tasted success with Chelsea in 2021 as an integral member of the English giants' .

    Undoubtedly the best defensive midfielder in the world, Kante produced a Man of the Match performance as the Blues clinched the Uefa Champions League title and he was named the tournament's Men's Midfielder of the year.

    Also lifted the 2021 Uefa Super Cup with Chelsea.

    Every year that passes we continue to see the same genius of Messi - the man regarded by many as the greatest footballer of all time.

    With his ability to win trophies with Argentina having been doubted by some for many years, the PSG superstar finally silenced his critics when he inspired the White and Sky Blues to the 2021 Copa America.

    He also scooped the Player of the Tournament and Golden Boot accolades.

    The Belgium international also helped the English giants reach the Uefa Champions League final in the same season which also saw De Bruyne and his City teammates lift the Carabao Cup for a record-equalling eighth time.
