Crystal Palace manager Patrick Viera has hinted at new signings after saying that they're 'short on numbers' as the January transfer window looms. Viera wants new players, but understands the winter transfer window can be tricky

"I believe that we are, like always, a bit short on numbers. I would like to have more options and we notified the profile of players that we want. Now we try to make it happen. Leeds United are reportedly set to sign RB Salzburg captain Maximilain Wober in a bid to sure up their leaky defence.

90min are reporting that the 24-year-old is set to undergo a medical at Leeds ahead of a £14 million pound move.

Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in bringing Sporting winger Marcus Edwards back to the club he started his career according to the Express.

Tottenham Hotspur could launch a surprise move for Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes, reports Football London.

The England international has recorded six goals so far this campaign, and it is thought that Spurs' sporting director Fabio Paratici is a huge fan of the player and could look to sign him in January.

Barnes could come in to directly replace Brazilian Lucas Moura, who is yet to open his account in the Premier League in 2022-23 and edges ever closer to a move away from the club.

Ahead of the 2023 Clausura in the Liga MX, Chivas de Guadalajara's Alexis Vega has revealed that he will be staying at the club and will turn down any offers from European clubs, as he did in the summer.

“There are cases where sometimes we rush just to fulfill the dream of playing in Europe and in six months or a year you are back," Vega said to TUDN (via 90min). "One team we had talks with wanted to take me to Europe, where I would play there for six months [at the highest level] and if it didn't go well, return on loan to another Liga MX team.

“I don't see the point in going to play for six months, the time it takes to adapt to the pressure and for you to adapt in the best way. Due to those situations, you make the decision to rush the process. Now I am focused on Chivas. I am super happy to stay here with my family for a long time."

Newcastle United are reportedly plotting a January swoop for Real Madrid full-back Ferland Mendy and have already tabled a lucrative offer to secure his services, according to Footmercarto.

The 27-year-old was tipped by many to be the heir to Marcelo as Los Blanco's permanent left-back, and he has progressed well under Carlo Ancelotti.

However, it is thought that the right offer could tempt the Frenchman away from the Spanish capital, who was unfortunate not to feature at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
