Inter’s attention turns to the upcoming Champions League final next Saturday. The Nerazzurri will travel to Istanbul in preparation of facing treble-chasing Manchester City, who lifted the FA Cup title earlier on after defeating rivals Manchester United at Wembley Stadium. Inzaghi’s side will be up against it, but they will head there with confidence after a strong end to their domestic campaign.

Inter end their Serie A campaign with victory after a 1-0 win at Torino. Brozovic’s 37th-minute strike proved the difference before the Nerazzurri sat back in the second half and defended with credible resilience. The triumph temporarily moves Inzaghi’s side up to second in the table but that could change later on when Lazio visit Empoli, trailing the Nerazzurri by just a point.

In a game desperately lacking much quality, Brozovic's powerful opener proves the difference at the interval. Juric will be wondering what Torino can do to breach a well-drilled Inter defence, while Inzaghi will be hoping for more of the same to see out the domestic campaign with another victory.

Inter lead 1-0 at the break after Brozovic’s 37th-minute strike, which Milinkovic-Savic may feel he could have done better with. Torino have offered little in what has been a low-key affair thus far, with the Nerazzurri having one eye on Istanbul next weekend and Juric’s hosts with little to play for on the final matchday.

45' Buongiorno steps in just when Torino need him as Brozovic fires a low ball across the face of goal. The centre-back was perfectly placed to deal with the danger inside his own six-yard area.

43' Calhanoglu's subsequent corner comes to nothing as Torino flick away a clearance at the near post. The Nerazzurri soon regain possession, slowly ramping up the pressure on their hosts, who appear in need of the half-time whistle.

41' Torino press high as Inter defenders exchange a few passes with Handanovic. The visitors then go long, with Dumfries seeing his low cross deflected behind for a corner by Schuurs.

39' Inzaghi's visitors have played the game with no real pace but finds themselves ahead. Such is the quality of this Inter team, they punish their opponents with any half-chance and Torino will have a long way back now.

36' SAVE! Ilic's left-footed corner finds Singo at the back post and the wing-back heads back across goal. Handanovic gets a strong hand to palm away before Inter hook a clearance out of their area.

36' Gosens flys into a well-timed challenge just as Singo looks to progress down the right flank. Ricci forces a corner from the resulting throw-in as Torino send their centre-backs forward to attack.

35' Torino haven’t won any of their last six home Serie A matches (D3, L3); the last time the Granata played more home games in a row in a single season without winning was in 2020-21 (12 on that occasion). They've played some nice stuff so far here, though, but can Juric's side find a way to break Inter's well-drilled defence?

27' This Serie A clash has been befitting of the permutations attached to it on the final matchday: with Inter and Torino playing for little. The Nerazzurri have been somewhat off the pace, while Juric's hosts have lacked any real quality up top.

25' Singo drives at Gosens and space opens up to test Handanovic. The Torino wing-back scuffs his left-footed chance and the Inter goalkeeper claims with ease.

Inter could become the first team in Serie A history to end a 20-team campaign in third after losing 12 games; prior to this term, the best result for a team with the same defeats in a 38-game season was fourth place (five times, most recently Lazio in 2011-12).

Perhaps with focus on the Champions League final, Inzaghi makes five changes to his starting line-up that defeated Atalanta 3-2 last time out. Onana, D’Ambrosio, Acerbi and Barella all drop to the bench, while Federico Dimarco misses out entirely. Handanovic, De Vrij, Darmian, Gagliardini and Gosens all come in.
