Thanks for tuning in to this live commentary - see you next time!
Both sides return to league action on Saturday with Nottingham Forest at home to Crystal Palace and Tottenham at home to Leeds United.
Nottingham Forest progress to the fourth round of the EFL Cup for the first time since the 2018-19 season whilst Tottenham, who reached the semi-finals last year, will now turn their focus to other competitions both domestically and in Europe.
Lodi and Lingard's second-half strikes were the difference in this match as Nottingham Forest pulled off a famous 2-0 victory against Tottenham to move into the fourth round of the EFL Cup. After a first half of few chances, it was the home side who sprung into life in the second half courtesy of two well-worked goals. Lodi's curling effort and Lingard's header from a clinical counter-attack were enough for Forest who saw out the game expertly after Mangala was sent off for a second yellow card.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Tottenham
90' + 4' Forest are keeping the ball down by the left corner flag and are running down the clock. They are on their way to a famous victory against Tottenham.
E. Dier
Yellow Card
Tottenham Hotspur
90' + 3' It is another yellow card for Tottenham and, this time, it is Dier after he throws the ball at Johnson following a foul.
90' There will be five minutes of added time in this second half.
Yellow Card
89' Bentancur also goes into the book for Tottenham as the frustrations continue to show for the away side.
88' A cross from Dier is well-defended again by this resolute Forest defence before Bentancur's strike rises high and handsome over the goal.
D. Kulusevski
Yellow Card
Tottenham Hotspur
87' Kulusevski receives a yellow card after an off-field incident involving a Forest ball boy.
85' The home side have done a superb job, so far, since going down to ten men to limit Tottenham to few chances. Spurs need to find a couple of goals, and quickly, or this will be the end of their EFL Cup hopes for this season.
81' Richarlison thinks he has the away side back in the game but his header, from a Dier cross, is ruled out for offside.
80' Spence, returning to his former ground, nearly gets Tottenham back into the game. He rises well to meet Lenglet's cross but Hennessey reacts well to tip the header over the bar.
J. Colback
L. O'Brien
Nottingham Forest
79' Forest's final sub sees midfielder O'Brien come off for Colback.
M. Gibbs-White
S. Surridge
Nottingham Forest
79' Surridge also comes off for the home side, with Gibbs-White replacing the striker.
S. Cook
J. Lingard
Nottingham Forest
78' Forest make three further changes following the red card. Goalscorer Lingard comes off and is replaced by centre-back Cook.
78' That red card has pushed the Forest defence back significantly, but they are holding firm thus far. Richarlison's effort from the edge of the box is scuffed and dribbles out tamely for a goal kick.
76' RED CARD! Mangala receives a second yellow card, and he is off! It is a senseless challenge on Richarlison with the ball still inside Forest's half. It is an easy decision for the referee and Forest will have to see out this encounter with ten men.
74' OFF THE LINE!! Spurs finally fashion a chance from the corner. The ball is bouncing around and Sanchez, then Richarlison try to swing a boot at it. The bouncing ball evades everyone, including the goalkeeper, but Worrall is able to get back to make a much-needed clearance off the line.
73' Spence has been bright since his introduction, and he combines with Kulusevski who, in turn, finds Bentancur. His low cross, however, is cleared for a corner.
73' Spurs are chasing the game and leaving huge gaps at the back. Lingard breaks clear with the ball this time but his effort is blocked by Dier on the edge of the box.
70' Forest are all over the away side at the moment. Johnson makes a darting run on the right-hand side before cutting it back for Lingard whose effort is blocked. Peter Bankes waves away protests of a penalty before Spurs finally get the ball clear.
69' SAVE!!!! Forster comes up trumps again with another big save - this time to deny Johnson. Mangala wins back the ball and feeds through the Forest striker who breaks clear before firing low with his left foot. But, once again, Forster is on hand to make a save and keep Spurs with the faintest of hopes in this tie.
O. Mangala
Yellow Card
Nottingham Forest
68' Mangala also goes into the book as he brings down Spence in the middle of the park.
Y. Bissouma
Yellow Card
Tottenham Hotspur
67' Bissouma also receives a yellow card after a poor challenge on Yates.
66' There is a break in play as Sessegnon receives treatment but the left-back looks okay to continue.
D. Spence
M. Doherty
Tottenham Hotspur
65' Spurs make another change as Doherty comes off with former Nottingham Forest player Spence coming on in his place.
J. Lingard
Yellow Card
Nottingham Forest
64' Lingard is the first player to be booked this evening after he catches Bissouma late in midfield.
B. Johnson
T. Awoniyi
Nottingham Forest
62' Forest's second change sees Johnson come on up front in the place of Awoniyi.
N. Williams
S. Aurier
Nottingham Forest
62' Nottingham Forest respond with changes of their own. Aurier, who played such a key role in that second Forest goal, is replaced by Williams.
Bryan Gil
H. Kane
Tottenham Hotspur
59' The third change for Spurs sees England's captain, Harry Kane head off to be replaced by Bryan Gil.
I. Perišić
Tottenham Hotspur
59' Perisic also makes way for the away side and is replaced by Richarlison who is back for his first minutes since his injury.
D. Kulusevski
O. Skipp
Tottenham Hotspur
59' Spurs need a goal and Conte makes three changes. First up Skipp is replaced by Kulusevski.
S. Surridge
Nottingham Forest
57' That is a fantastic header back across the goal from Surridge, and it is put on a plate for Lingard who could not miss.
J. Lingard
Nottingham Forest
57' GOAAAAALLLLL!!! LINGARD!! 2-0!! What a clinical counter-attack from Nottingham Forest. Spurs once again give away the ball and Aurier is able to drive forward from right-back. The former Spurs defender delivers a great ball to Surridge at the back post who nods it back into the penalty area and straight to Lingard, who flicks the ball home into the right-hand corner.
55' Tottenham just about deal with the corner as Surridge's effort from outside the box is comfortably saved by a grateful Forster in goal.
53' SAVE!!! It is a fantastic save from Forster who keeps Spurs in this game. Forest win back the ball through Lingard and feeds it to Awoniyi. The striker finds his strike partner Surridge in all kinds of space in the penalty area but Surridge's left-footed effort is denied superbly by the feet of Forster.
J. Lingard
Nottingham Forest
50' Lingard shifted the ball well across to Lodi, but it was all about the left-back with a wonderful finish.
Renan Lodi
Nottingham Forest
50' GOAAAL!!!! LODI!!! 1-0 FOREST! Forest make their start count, and it is a delightful effort from the left-back Lodi. The ball is worked out to Lingard who feeds it onto the Brazilian. His direct run takes him to the edge of the box before he chops back onto his weaker right foot and bends a delightful effort into the right-hand corner.
48' SAVE!! Nottingham Forest have started this second half on the front foot. Aurier whips a cross in from the right aiming for Surridge. Spurs are able to clear but the ball falls to Lingard who unleashes a vicious effort which stings the palms of Forster in the Tottenham goal.
46' KICK-OFF: We are underway for the second half at The City Ground.
R. Bentancur
P. Højbjerg
Tottenham Hotspur
46' Conte decides to make a change at half-time with Hojbjerg coming off for Bentancur.
Spurs fans will have undoubtedly become accustomed to their slow starts and this evening has been no different. Conte will want an improved second-half performance to ensure this game isn't lost or ends up being decided by penalties. Forest will probably be happy with that first half having created the better chances. Cooper will be hoping they can show a more clinical edge when chances present themself in this second half.
It remains goalless at half-time in this all-Premier League encounter between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham in the EFL Cup. Nottingham Forest will feel they had the best chances of the game when Sanchez's clearance deflected onto Awoniyi and onto the post before Forster saved Lingard's header off the rebound. Lingard and Worrall had further chances for the home side whilst Doherty's drive, well saved by Hennessey, represented Tottenham's best chance of the half which saw few clear-cut opportunities.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: Nottingham Forest 0-0 Tottenham
45' There will be one minute of extra time in this first half.
44' Both sides have traded spells of possession in the first half but neither side has been able to create anything too troubling for the respective goalkeepers in the last ten minutes.
39' Forest win back the ball in their own half and Surridge receives the ball but his audacious cross-field pass aiming for the run of Lingard is overhit and ends up in the palms of Forster.
36' It is another good spell of possession for Forest as Lingard and O'Brien combine well through the middle of the park. The ball is recycled and worked out to Lodi but the cross once more finds itself blocked and behind for another corner.
35' Nottingham Forest have been eliminated in seven of their last eight League Cup third-round ties, winning the other 3-2 at home to Stoke in 2018-19.
31' SAVE!! Tottenham are growing into this encounter, and it is a great save from Hennessey to deny a blistering Doherty drive. Perisic does great work again down the left and his cross evades Kane but falls into the path of the marauding right wing-back who crisply hits an effort and forces a good save from Hennessey.
29' Perisic delivers another threatening corner, but Dier's near post effort goes over the bar for a goal-kick.
28' The same three players are involved just two minutes later. Lingard gives the ball away, and it finds its way to Kane on the right-hand side. The Englishman tries to float a ball to the back post where Hojbjerg is waiting but Aurier is there once again to glance it over for a corner.
26' Kane gets involved for the first time in this game and nearly creates a goalscoring opportunity as he threads a ball through towards Hojbjerg. However, Aurier is on hand to intercept and clear the ball behind for a corner which Forest deal with.
23' SAVE! Forest threaten once again, this time from the corner. Worrall wins the headers, but it bounces straight back to the defender who pokes it goalwards. Forster reacts well to make an instinct save before Worrall commits a foul trying to hack at the ball for the third time.
22' OVER! Forest lose the ball cheaply from a throw-in but Spurs are equally complacent and give the ball straight back to Lingard. The attacking midfielder drives forward and shoots but his effort deflects of Dier and over for a corner.
19' Sessegnon, having nearly created a shooting opportunity, brings down Awoniyi in the Tottenham half to concede a free-kick. Lodi delivers but the cross is well-cleared by Sanchez.
17' Tottenham nearly fashion their first shooting effort there as Sessegnon picks up the ball in the box. He tries to dribble across the box to create the angle for the shot but the Tottenham left-back is well-marshalled by Worrall who is able to clear.
16' With 15 minutes gone in this encounter, Forest have had three shots with Tottenham yet to register any.
12' The home side have started much better in this encounter. The ball is worked out to Lodi, whose cross from the left is far more threatening this time and has to be headed out for another corner by Sessegnon.
9' POST!! It's a huge chance for Forest. Awoniyi has the ball on the edge of the box and Sanchez attempts to clear the ball away. But the ball bounces off the striker and ricochets back onto Tottenham's post. Lingard reacts first to get a header on goal from the rebound but Forster is equal to it and pushes the effort behind for a corner.
9' Tottenham have a free-kick on the right-hand side of Forest's half. Perisic whips the cross in but Dier's header at the near posts sails harmlessly over the bar.
7' Lodi's first corner is headed out by Hojbjerg for a second corner but the Brazillian left-back wastes the second attempt and delivers it straight into the hands of Forster.
6' Forest have their first attack of the evening after some good work from Lingard down the left. He receives O'Brien's pass before feeding it inside to Yates, whose effort deflects over for the first corner of the game.
3' Both teams are feeling their way into this encounter with plenty of passes going astray. Hojbjerg tries to feed Skipp through but the Danish midfielder's pass is overhit and runs through to the goalkeeper.
1' KICK-OFF: Nottingham Forest get the game underway.
This is the eighth meeting between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup and the first since September 2014, a 3-1 away win for Spurs.
For Tottenham, there are just four changes from their defeat to Liverpool. Forster replaces Lloris in goal, while Doherty and Sanchez come in for Ben Davies and Emerson in defence. And in midfield, Bentancur is rested with Skipp coming in to replace him.
For the home side, Steve Cooper elects to make sweeping changes from the weekend draw with only two players keeping their places. In goal, Hennessey replaces Henderson, while Worrall, Boly, and Lodi come in for Cook, Scott McKenna, and Williams in defence. In midfield, O'Brien, Mangala, and Lingard are preferred to Freuler, Cheikhou Kouyate, and Gibbs-White. And up top, Johnson and Dennis make way for Awoniyi and Surridge.
TOTTENHAM SUBS: Japhet Tanganga, Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison, Djed Spence, Emerson Royal, Hugo Lloris, Bryan Gil, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Sarr.

Nottingham Forest come into this game following a 2-2 draw against Brentford but with just one win in their last 11 games. Steve Copper's side reached the third round after a 3-0 away win against Grimsby Town in the second round.
