The Carthage Eagles are targeting their third ever win in the World Cup since first qualifying in 1978, when they face the Danes

Tunisia have named their team to play Denmark on Tuesday afternoon in a Group D World game at the Education City Stadium.

The North Africans are aware a positive start is vital if they are to stand a chance of advancing from the pool that also has the defending champions France and Australia.

Despite qualifying for the World Cup five times already, Tunisia have managed just two wins in the history of the competition and the fans hope their team can start this edition on a high.

Denmark posted their best-ever display at the 1998 World Cup in France when they reached the quarter-finals.

Here is how Jalel Kadris' team line up.

  • GK_Aymen Dahmen

    Goalkeeper: Aymen Dahmen

The 25-year-old CS Sfaxien custodian has been in great form for the Carthage Eagles since earning his first cap during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Equatorial Guinea and has kept his place in the team.

  • DF_Mohamed Drager

    Right wing-back: Mohamed Drager

Apart from defending, Drager can push on on the right flank and his crosses will be crucial for the strikers.

  • DF_Montassar Talbi

    Centre-back: Montassar Talbi

The Lorient defender has been one of the key figures for Tunisia, especially in the central defensive role with his superb defensive instinct. He wins his 22nd cap against the Danish side.

  • DF_Dylan Bronn

    Centre-back: Dylan Bronn

Bronn has featured in all 15 Serie A matches for his side Salernitana in this campaign and it explains why he has walked straight into the starting XI.

  • DF_Yassine Meriah

    Centre-back: Yassine Meriah

The Esperance defender plays in the middle of a three-man backline.

  • DF_Ali Abdi

    Left wing-back: Ali Abdi

The 28-year-old Abdi comes in handy for Tunisia with his lung-bursting runs from the left. He can assist and has the nose for scoring goals which will be an added plus to the North Africans.

  • MF_Ellyes Skhiri

    Central midfielder: Ellyes Skhiri

The FC Koln midfielder has been preferred in central midfield. He has been in excellent form in the Bundesliga, playing 14 matches in the process and it is one of the reasons why he has been given a chance.

  • Tunisia's midfielder Aissa Laidouni

    Central midfielder: Aissa Laidouni

Laidouni, who currently features for Hungarian side Ferencvaros, will partner Sassi in the middle of play.

  • FW_Anis Ben Slimane

    Right Attacker: Anis Ben Slimane

Slimani will be playing in front of the midfield and on the right side of Jebali who leads the attack.

  • FW_Youssef Msakni

    Left Attacker: Youssef Msakni

With this likely to be his last appearance in the global competition, Msakni, who is always a threat in front of goal, will definitely use the occasion to propel Tunisia to success in Qatar.

  • FW_Issam Jebali

    Forward: Issam Jebali

Wahbi Khazri has not started with Jebali getting the opportunity to lead the line.
