THE BIGGER PICTURE
In the routine, Broja punches McCulloch on the arm, before seeing his adversary return the favour with a harder blow. Broja crumples onto a nearby table, with a smile locked on his face throughout. McCulloch finds the incident hysterical and leaves the room with Broja and Ben Chilwell still inside.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Broja has been out of action since November 2022 – with his last appearance coming for Albania in a friendly clash with Italy – but he is nearing a return to club competition after undergoing surgery on a serious knee problem that was picked up during the World Cup break. He could come into contention for selection at a timely moment for Chelsea, with new Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino crying out for a No.9 to lead the line in his team.
