After saving Bertrand Traore's shot in the opening minutes of the game, the Chelsea goalkeeper had no real test until Blati Toure finished off a fine team move - and the keeper was caught unaware.

  2. Abdou Diallo - 7.5/10

Diallo broke the deadlock at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium after 70 minutes of play. The PSG man also played a role in stopping Hassane Bande's attacking threats.

  3. Kalidou Koulibaly 7-10

It was another solid defensive performance from the captain who was involved in the build-up to the first goal. He attempted a backheel that turned into an assist.

  4. Bouna Sarr - 6.5/10

Limited Burkina Faso's attacking threats from the right flank but Sarr lacked the runs to push the Teranga Lions forward.

  5. Saliou Ciss - 7/10

Ciss continued his brilliant work on the left flank. Aside from his defensive duty, he contributed to the attacking play and he was apparently the most fouled player in Aliou Cisse's team.

  6. Cheikhou Kouyate - 7/10

    Cheikhou Kouyate - 7/10

Earned his starting spot after a super-sub performance on Sunday but he was involved in a clash of heads with goalkeeper Herve Koffi on the half-hour mark.

He got back on his feet and still supported the midfield until he was substituted in the 65th minute.

  7. Nampalys Mendy - 7.5/10

The 29-year-old was a dominant force in the Teranga Lions midfield and his presence helped them to dictate the pace of the game.

  8. Idrissa Gueye - 8/10

Gueye's ball-winning skill started the move for Senegal's second goal and he also attempted some shots before finally getting his name on the scoresheet in the 76th minute.

  9. Bamba Dieng - 7/10

Dieng gave a good account of himself on his first start for Senegal and he was close to hitting the ball before Gueye fired it into the back of the net.

  10. Sadio Mane - 8.5/10

Mane was at the heart of Senegal's attack and he registered the most shots on goal (3). In addition to that, the Liverpool forward also had an assist and a goal to his name.
He was later rewarded as the Man of the Match on Wednesday night.

  11. Famara Diedhiou 6/10

Barely made a significant impact upfront but his presence kept the Stallions' defence on their toes.

  12. Ismaila Sarr - 7/10

The introduction of the Watford man boosted the Teranga Lions' push for an opening goal. His run won the corner-kick that led to Diallo's goal in the 70th minute.
