Borussia Dortmund secured a point despite going two goals down to their rivals on Saturday.

Anthony Modeste sparked wild celebrations for Borussia Dortmund with his last minute equaliser against Bayern Munich.

Modeste has struggled in his first term with the Black and Yellow but was excellent here, offering hope that he can yet make an impact along the team's front-line.

Youssoufa Moukoko and the veteran forward ensured a fantastic comeback with their second-half goals to secure the 2-2 draw.

The German champions went two goals ahead through Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sane, but were hardly at their best throughout the match and a way back in for Dortmund always looked possible.

At 17 years old, Moukoko became the youngest player to score a Bundesliga goal in a match between these two teams.

After setting his teenage team-mate up with some excellent work on the ball, Modeste managed to fire in the equaliser deep into injury time to ensure they remain one point behind top spot and level with their fierce rivals.

As for Julian Nagelsmann's team, it is another disappointing result in the German top-flight. Despite their excellent Champions League form, they have won just one of their last six games in the Bundesliga.

  • Jamal Musiala Bayern Munich 2022-23

    WINNER: Jamal Musiala

The Germany midfielder's excellent form continues. He was pivotal once again for Bayern, assisting both of his team's goals.

He now has seven assists in all competitions this season to go along with his five Bundesliga goals.

The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the most promising young players in the world and it is clear that his importance to Bayern will only grow over the coming years.

  • Anthony Modeste Borussia Dortmund 2022-23

    WINNER: Anthony Modeste

It was a decisive display from the 34-year-old who was brought in to the club on short notice after the departure of Erling Haaland and the cancer diagnosis of would-be Haaland replacement Sebastien Haller.

He did well to hold onto the ball and set up Moukoko for Borussia Dortmund's first goal, and he sent the home crowd wild when he got to the back post and headed past Manuel Neuer in stoppage time.

It will go down as one of the great moments of Dortmund's season as Edin Terzic's men prevented their fierce rivals from moving top of the table and kept the sides level on points.

  • Leroy Sane Bayern Munich 2022-23

    WINNER: Leroy Sane

"He's one of the best players in Europe, he can add the icing on the cake to any team in the world," Julian Nagelsmann said of the Bayern attacker recently and he showed again why he deserves high praise.

Sane was one of the best Bayern players on the field, even after their disappointing first-half performance. He rounded off his display with a fine goal - his ninth of the season - from distance to double their lead in the second half.

  • Sadio Mane Bayern Munich 2022-23

    LOSER: Sadio Mane

The summer signing has had an inconsistent start to life at Bayern Munich and this was one of his weaker displays.

Days after having a big influence on the 5-0 win against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League, he was totally ineffective against Dortmund.

He missed a great chance that was set up by Leon Goretzka in the second half and offered very little going forward for the visitors.

Mane is far from his blistering Liverpool form and seems to be struggling to adapt to Bayern's style.

  • Alphonso Davies Bayern Munich 2022-23

    LOSER: Alphonso Davies

The Canada star sustained a nasty injury in the first half when he took a boot to the face from Jude Bellingham.

He had to be substituted and reports say he was taken to hospital with a possible concussion.

Davies seemed to take some damage to his eye as he challenged for the ball.

Canada fans will be worried about the extent of the injury to their star full-back with the World Cup coming up.

  • Alexander Meyer Borussia Dortmund 2022-23

    LOSER: Alexander Meyer

The goalkeeper has put in some strong performances for Borussia Dortmund but this was not one of them.

The 31-year-old put in a weak display as both goals slipped past him from long range.

Sane's goal will be particularly embarrassing for the shot stopper as he made contact with the ball but failed to keep it out of the net, putting his side in real danger of losing the match.
