Liverpool player ratings vs Leicester: Curtis Jones & Trent Alexander-Arnold put struggling Foxes to the sword as Reds continue top four push
Liverpool kept up the heat on Newcastle in the race for the Champions League with a 3-0 win over a Leicester side which looks to be sleepwalking towards relegation.
A first-half brace from the in-form Curtis Jones set the Reds on their way to their seventh straight Premier League win. Trent Alexander-Arnold added a third with a stunning free-kick after the break, and victory moves Jurgen Klopp’s side to within a point of the top four ahead of Newcastle’s meeting with Brighton on Thursday night.
For Leicester, defeat leaves them in deep trouble, 19th in the table and two points from safety with only two games remaining. Dean Smith’s side were booed off at half-time, and again at the final whistle, as supporters vented their frustrations at their underperforming side.
