Harry Kane is one of the few elite strikers of this generation, but just how many goals has he scored in his career?

Harry Kane is arguably the most consistent Premier League striker of the last decade.

The Tottenham Hotspur ace did not have an explosive start to his career, but once Kane found his goal-scoring touch, he never looked back.

Due to the lack of hype surrounding his jump from the academy to the senior team, Kane's prowess in front of the goal took many by surprise.

Even today, he probably doesn't quite get the appreciation he truly deserves for his skills and ability, which will partially be down to the lack of trophies for both Kane and Spurs.

Over the years, Kane has developed into a player who is far more than just a goalscorer.

In particular, his chemistry with Son Heung-min has made them one of the deadliest duos English football has ever seen.

Yet it is Kane's clinical finishing that remains his strongest suit.

He has won the Golden Boot three times in his impressive career and is on the path to becoming the top-scorer in both the Premier League's history and Tottenham Hotspur's history.

But just how many goals has he scored?

Let's take a look

The coaches at Tottenham Hotspur's academy never thought the gangly kid would go on to become one of the greatest players in the club's history. Early on in his career, Kane lacked physical traits that gave his peers an advantage, but his determination to improve gave him an edge over others.

It is this will to be better which has got Kane where he is today.

Despite making the jump from the academy to the first team, he remained a back-up for other strikers and loan spells at various English clubs across different divisions didn't go as planned either.

The new year marked a new beginning for Kane in 2015. In a game against Chelsea, the striker dominated veteran defenders John Terry and Gary Cahill and a brace against the Blues properly kickstarted his career.

The 2017-18 season was arguably Kane's best, with the forward scoring 41 goals in 48 games.

The next season he nearly led his side to European glory, barely missing out against Liverpool in the Champions League Final. Him grabbing both the Golden Boot and Playmaker of the Season awards in 2020-21 highlighted his holistic growth over his career.

Under Antonio Conte, he may finally end his trophy drought and advance further in his goal to overtake club legend Jimmy Greaves as Tottenham Hotspur's all-time top scorer.

    KANE AT LEICESTER CITY

After an abrupt end to his loan with Norwich City, Kane was sent to then-Championship side Leicester City for the rest of the season. At the King Power Stadium, the striker was mostly on the bench and saw few minutes on the pitch. However, his spell at Leicester remains a great piece of trivia for fans as he shared a place on the bench with another striker who would go on to take the Premier League by surprise and become one of its greatest goal scorers, Jamie Vardy.

A half-season loan at Norwich City would set the tone for Kane's underwhelming 2012-13 season. A broken metatarsal bone early on left him on the sidelines for most of his loan spell. In January, Tottenham Hotspur would recall Kane with the striker ending his loan on a blank note.

    KANE AT MILLWALL

Kane's time at Millwall gave a hint of the player he would become later on.

During the early days of his loan at the Championship side, he struggled to find the back of the net, but he found his goalscoring form by the end of the season, scoring seven goals during the last 14 matches, winning Millwall's young player of the season.

The loan at Leyton Orient was Kane's first experience of professional football at a senior level. He didn't take much time to impress at the club, scoring in his first league start. While his stats for Leyton aren't that impressive on paper, their underlying story reflects on his eventual growth into an elite striker.

    Kane's record for England

Kane's international career has been nothing short of impressive.

Since he made his debut in 2015, he hasn't stopped scoring for the national side and is on his way to overtaking Wayne Rooney as England's all-time top scorer.

Kane was made England's captain in 2018 and his leadership and importance to the team were highlighted during the 2018 World Cup and Euros 2020.

Kane would go on to become the Golden Boot winner at the 2018 World Cup with six goals, becoming the first player since Geoff Hurst to score a hat-trick for England at the tournament.

During the 2020 Euros, Kane scored in each of England's knockout stage matches, helping them reach the final of a major tournament for the first time since 1966.

Unfortunately, they would again suffer heartbreak, losing on penalties to Italy.

Kane will be looking to end England's long trophy drought by leading them to success at 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Irrespective of the outcome, he has cemented his legacy as one of England's all-time greatest players.
