Ghana captain Andre Ayew has received social media criticism for his brother Jordan’s two errors in his side’s 3-2 loss to Portugal in their World Cup opener.
Andre scored Ghana’s equaliser before Portugal netted two late goals to take the game beyond the Blacks Stars’ reach with Osman Bukari grabbing the second for his country.
🇬🇭proud of the team spirit and the unity showed on the pitch, we will prepare for the next game, giving up doesn’t exist in our dictionary

Thanks for the support 🇬🇭
We keep going 🤲🏽 pic.twitter.com/p242zFrgkT
Jordan was, however, culpable for Portugal’s two late goals as he lost his marker for the second before easily giving away possession as the European side went on to score the third and Ghana supporters took to Andre’s Twitter page to vent their frustrations.
Say no to Jordan for the rest of the group stage. -@ElijahS65875890
The performance was really great but please tell the coach not to play your brother again. -@MrLiquid8
Daddy you’re here too please if you really love Ghana give Jordan something to do so that he won’t be available to play against South Korea. -@sa_m_m_y_
Talk to your brother, he needs to be tough when playing. -@_heydaniel
Sometimes you need to be bold enough on referees. I think you guys were so soft on the referee on his penalty decision. I was expecting one of you to stand still by refusing the Portuguese to take that penalty. Even if he gave you a red card, we'll be happy. -@FiifiRichard5
Please, next time stand by each other. Insist if the referee doesn't consult the VAR, don't let the penalty go on after all he can't give the whole team yellow cards or red cards. -@origi_gh
The team put up a splendid performance. We know that you are going to lead the team to another splendid performance against South Korea. The people and the spirit of the people of Ghana are solidly behind you. -@_papanurse
Tell the coach to play Kamaldeen ahead of your brother. We don't like him period, we never agreed on his inclusion in the first place, now you see the mess he has caused? -@GammaRay33
Please, Ghana and Senegal are the African teams I am hoping will make us proud. I wish you guys the very best in your next game. -@ddmtams
Please try your best not to get a second yellow card. You have the potential of scoring more goals in this World Cup. -@mrkwakuofficial
It's not how you start but finish, South Korea and Uruguay are there for the taking. It is possible to qualify. -@pleasuremongalo
The performance was splendid but please, it’s either the coach plays both of you or none of you. You alone it’s marvelous to watch, but both of you is the magic I am waiting to see. If both of you were on the pitch CR7 [Cristiano Ronaldo] wouldn't have seen anything. -@EuGeNe_B41
Kindly tell Otto Addo that to use [Thomas] Partey in his permanent position (that is the six position not eight) whenever he played. He got lost all the time. -@NanaBakayoko
Thanks for the first goal but honestly, your performance wasn't as good as we know you to be. And Baba Rahman too. Do well next time please. -@AReckony
